Syracuse Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped Behind Wall
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – At 7:32 A.M. today, the Syracuse Fire Department was called to the Landmark Theatre, located at 326 South Salina Street, for a report of a person trapped inside of a wall. Theatre employees called 911 after hearing someone banging on the wall and yelling for help. It is believed that the person, an adult male, entered the theatre 2-3 days ago. It is not clear how exactly he gained access to the area behi...nd the wall.
Upon arrival, members of Rescue Company 1 drilled a hole in the wall and utilized a fiber-optic camera to determine his exact location and how to best extricate him. Firefighters were then able to free the individual after carefully cutting through several layers of drywall and structural clay tile. He was treated and transported to Upstate University Hospital by AMR. His condition is not currently known. #syracusefire
