It is with great sadness and shock to report to you about the passing away of one of our in Great Western direct provision centre in Galway on Thursday the 2 August 2018. She was a member of the LGBT+ in her 40s was found dead in the room on Thursday afternoon. We are not in a position to release her name nor her rationality at this stage for obvious reasons. The cause of death has not been established yet as it's a matter of the Garda now. We will update you once the information is clear. The residents we spoke to are in shock about this loss of their friend and a chatty guys as they describe her. The whole LGBT+ family in direct provision is saddened with this untimely loss. She was not even supposed to be housed at the men's only hostel. These are the issues RIA must consider as they house people. Rest in peace our dear sister.
