Ok guys sorry it’s been so long for an update but we have been waiting on one ourselves. They finally called in an infectious disease doctor and a surgeon. The surgeon said that from his experience with necrotizing fasciitis he does not feel like this is what he has! I have been terrified of this for two days! However he did say that he will probably have to have surgery in the very near future because he does have evidence that some of the tissue is dead from the damage of t...he infection. He also said his platelets were very low and they are stopping the blood thinner. He can’t eat or drink anything after midnight in case they take him for surgery tomorrow. Next the infectious disease doctor came in and looked at him and said he believes this is a form of bacteria found in river water but I couldn’t understand what the bacteria was called to look it up which is probably a good thing because it would just make me stress more. He did say it was a very serious infection and they were going to have to change his treatment plan to a more aggressive plan than it already is. We are not out of the woods yet. Please please continue to pray for Ricky Rutherford. Pray for the doctors to find answers. Pray they are finally on the right treatment path. You guys don’t know how much I appreciate the fact you are all asking about him and offering to help in any way you can. I will keep you updated as I find out anything. We love you all!
