Puritan Backroom

As many of you have may have heard, we are grieving together in loss of Charlie - a beloved son, brother, grandson, friend and colleague.Just a few of the many titles he holds.

During one of our toughest years, Charlie never hesitated to accompany his Papou, or father, in scooping ice cream, wrapping Syrian breads, and even pouring our infamous duck sauces. So many of us watched in admiration, as we imagined what the future would hold when the 5th generation finally took t...he Puritan under their wing. While some would say Charlie was a spitting image of his father, many of us saw him as a mini version of his Papou. Charlie was always so proud to follow his Papou around the restaurant, and quickly began to emulate his work ethic and his love for cutting fresh feta.

All of us at the Puritan felt a part of his life, as his Papou, Rara, Uncle Chris and father’s faces lit up as they shared stories of all Charlie’s athletic, scholastic and personal accomplishments. They regaled us with highlights of his basketball games, new cooking adventures, or summer trips at the beach with his siblings and cousins. They made it feel as if we were there to share in these special moments. The Puritan Family has often been described as notoriously close knit, and we feel immensely proud and privileged to have Charles Arthur Zink as a member of that family. Our love is with the entire family, and especially his mother, father, sisters and brother. May his memory truly be eternal. ❤️
