Francisco Barajah, a pastor in Mozambique, died in hospital last Wednesday after trying to fast for forty days, in emulation of Christ.

After twenty-five days without food or water, he had lost weight to the point where he could not stand up.

He was diagnosed with acute anaemia and failure of his digestive organs.
