My heart is filled with gratitude: for the Episcopal Diocese of Maine,who saw in Thomas James Brown, my spouse what I see: a generous and joyful faith. I love our own bishop, the Rt. Rev. Alan Gates, who arrived at our home after the election with flowers. We both were carried by all of you who have prayed for us through the search process. We serve remarkable parishes: St. John's Episcopal Church, Charlestown and Parish of the Epiphany, and are grateful for all the understanding they have shown. And I am grateful to God for my beloved spouse.
