Eaglet Lola attempts to allopreen Hawklet Tuffy2. (6/18)
Tuffy2 wasn't very interested and displayed it. Lola made several attempts and then got the message and they perched together until Lola leaped back into the nest.
So what is allopreening?
It's basically grooming the other. There many reasons why include: strengthening bond, reduce or redirect potential agressive tendencies, reduce instinctual aggression when birds are in close contact, practicing skills they will use later in life, and something mating pairs will do to assist in effective grooming. #BaldEagleNest #eaglenest #eaglesadopthawk
