A simple glance at the venue’s bookings and a couple Google searches will show that Shroud of the Heretic, a band with releases on Iron Bonehead Records is playing there tomorrow (May 13th). Bonehead is a common name for neo-nazi skinheads and the label sells a large amount of merchandise from various fascist bands.

In June, this band is playing a show at a different venue with Heresiarch, a band that uses the fascist imagery and was previously signed to Satanic Skinhead Propaganda, a known nazi record label. We feel that these connections alone provide substantial cause for concern.

We want to be very clear: our point in listing this venue on our pamphlet is not to insinuate that the ownership, staff or even most of the people that attend shows there are fascists. Indeed plenty of antifascist and leftist bands play there as well. However, Portland Maoist Group believes it is important to document when and where fascists are showing up in our city, and given the recent rise of fascist activity, we believe it is a matter of public safety for people to have access to such information. What shows you attend is your business, what shows venues book is their business, we are only interested in letting people know of places where they may potentially encounter fascists and when you book bands with apparent ties to fascists, even if it’s unintentional, it is reasonable to assume that individuals with fascist ties will attend.
