Hi everyone this stylish across name in Los Angeles at the prayer oh actually that's kind of a little White lie because we're in the process of moving offices because we're growing and thanks to you guys for that growth we're gonna be talking to my favorite meteorologist and not just because I've known him for 12 years but partially because he gave me an hour by hour zero ct perfect weather forecast for my wedding day no kidding production to Joe for starting is the chief meteorologist at weather dot com and we're gonna be talking a little bit about you know whether alarmist but more specifically the worlds of reaction to President trump with drawing the United States from the Paris climate agreement show thanks so much for being on with us today well thank you for being there is sure was a beautiful day for your wedding a sorry I could make it my best man speech already but go well Joe so you have we talked about before how it's so funny that weather guys tend to get so much flack if they don't do everything perfectly right it's a cloudy in kinda gloomy day here in Los Angeles it's a warm and sunny day where you are New York um most the time that's reverse at in and are merely just here can pretty much you know throw a pendant that the weather and say it's gonna be sunny and warm and people still get mad at them if it sprinkles so how come on your all ages and whether people are treated with such disdain when climate alarmist have been so off for such a long time and they still get a paycheck well let me just have well our company is based in New York I've been different about Pennsylvania because the weather is pretty miserable in New York today what a blaze and that's what you get New York uh they gave the but um well first of all in the private sector where I work there's a bottom line that you gotta be right after all of their forecast available uh for free out there and uh from different sources government sources I kinda think you better be bringing value to the forecast so I tell people on time you know what um it in my particular case I just let the fact that and I'm forecast I'm 61 years old I've been doing this some chief meteorologist for growing company you know that that sort of speaks for itself as to what the accuracy is the other thing is too is you gonna understand least of what I do I can't talk for other people but listen what I do I forecast everyday in taking the day off since I joined weather Bell a part of that is because it's in my and a to me uh issuing issuing forecast for clientele and for people interested in what I do is something that's like eating and breathing to me everyday just keeps going up going on in the battle begins everyday and yes you do get you understand what it's like to lose and miss forecast and you know there's a lot of competition and it I'm very very thankful because as far as I know I'm the only degreed meteorologist since 19 52 a letter division one wrestler now you see me in this but it wrestling is it yo wrestle attend state of course state now is the dominant wrestling team in the country but um uh who it's a very competitive sport is a bottom line sport be the within or you don't win and you can't make many many excuses in there are power levels in what I do now I find it interesting and that in various parts of the field is not quite that power alone uh there and uh in what I do I get paid for the result of my idea I don't get paid for my idea I get paid for the result of it so if the result is wrong long enough alicia that means I'm not gonna get paid so there's an element of lots of and what course we have a great video on for you dot com people haven't checked it out that debunks the myth that 97 percent of scientists agree that there is this global warming of the planet or that climate change is man-made never fall up so why this negative reaction you think too but the United States not participating in the Paris climate agreement well I take this entire I think when this is all said and done the climate part of it is very very very little there's so many other things that are blended into it this perfect storm of what it is it the in my think is an element of uh people wanting to do something bigger than themselves to be involved in something that will make them feel good about themselves I think that there are people in the business of climate that wanna be heroes alright you take today we're recording this on the day and the media day is just you know unbelievable to me I look back at the people that came before me and I say how did they do that could I have performed made that forecast for instance God made that forecast with what they had today how would I perform on an even playing field okay and then ask myself my wrestling coach penn state was one the first man on the Beach in normandy and I ask myself could I am done that and what you have today is you have a lot of people who never been put into the position so they make things up they say I'm involved in the climate war and I'm like you don't know what war really is item what really is moment but ashley it's like all these people wanna be heroic and the fact of the matter is harold Wilson a true hero never occurs in a planet occurs in a reaction to a situation where you don't know if you're gonna be in or not so try so what I'm saying is this there's a whole big group out there that appears to me that was saving the world was saving the planet we're doing this we're doing that they're creating a strong men where they could be the warrior that becomes the hero some of second but you have some kind of glorified video game that people play today and I really I really think that's out there I think that's a large part of the element that's leading this it the kind of place into the social media social Justice warriors but what it is but it does it does I want say I don't know everybody's everybody's motive I'm not fit to walk in their shoes I'm just giving you an observation that when you hear people that we have to save the planet you know for someone like me I think I looking I look at things like health care feeding our poor feeding our hungry the inner cities of the United States I look at that go this far far our weighs a problem today for always the ghost of tomorrow that may or may not be there it's interesting that you bring that up because Chelsea Clinton was recently at a women's conference and she said that that's right a global warming on the world today is just as dangerous is that if isis uh so once you do fun do that it is astounding it is astounding to hear that I'll tell you what if you look if you look at the rated human progress the personal gdp of the world personal people on the planet since the fossil fuel areas going straight up okay life expectancy has increased dramatically in the last a hundred and 20 hundred and 50 years this isn't a coincidence that more people on the planet today more living better here we got a lot of people in poverty but the fact is a wealthy a wealthy stronger country becomes a healthier country and help the world around it it's it look my philosophy people say you Republican the Democrat concert with it's a wrestlers philosophy that the rise of the individual leads to the rise of those around you and because you guys gonna wrestle they butt heads they get better the team improves overall but you have to have it be done in smaller groups growing up not top down authority pulling it up because after all the top down authority is wrong a lot of people who go launching in a different direction and I think souls playing devil's advocate here then was there anything positive for the United States or the world about the Paris climate agreement no I mean I'm like I'm like doctor will happen I mean we all just get together and feel good does it really was that there were no steps because I mean I watch video afternoon with parts from magickal or you know young turks are people all over that I've made the argument that you know this is the first time and in 20 14 I think it was that all these Nations came together and make these agreements that in business and government they were gonna make these cuts that will help save the planet so no one saying that none of those things up know the United States was gonna make the cuts the innovation in the United States has been nothing short spectacular week one of the world leaders in the reduction of carbon emissions I mean look at what we've done since 19 94 and this quote is no question we all want a cheap form of energy but do we because they even the UN Secretary general himself said that they the world has to get off the cheap energy hook but it is so easy why electricity prices and three times higher in Europe than the United States and you gotta understand alicia when I look at this it is a simple matter of deduction okay okay three points and I make this point these points all the time and it doesn't go beyond this how much if any is man contributing to the current cycle in the climate giving man has never had a contribution before that's number one number two is it worth of your coney and uh laws that will be importing effect to shut down whole segments of industry in this country and the resulting chain reaction down stream from that injury and number three and a course that this is in the moral case for fossil fuels by Alex epstein great book great video get your hands on it by why can't we just adapt to it man is always progress by adopting and progressing okay but I feel that there is a concerted effort to not the United States down to size I can come to any conclusion other than that when the United States is shelling out all the money has the greatest demand them and yet chaka gets to do whatever they want to building a cold plan a week and it's not like the cold we have in this country where we try to develop a perfectly clean burning coal China just keeps doing whatever they want and I got nothing against the Chinese people I've got nothing against and try to improve their people but I have I have a feeling that a lot of these people say yeah as long as it keeps the United States bottled up this is a good deal you have a President now that doesn't see things that way and that's happen so you talk about some of the changes that we've made in the United States and how we really have been at the forefront to kind of craving cleaner errand thing your energy and you before we came on I love we have tons of yours here in southern California I have friends that you know moved here where kids in the eighties the nineties and I used to have small days instead of snow days where they want to go to school because the smog was so bad in Los Angeles could you explain our audience what you're telling no one night before we got started about how the warmer weather in southern California that people are quick to global warming is actually the result of us having cleaner air well it'll again it may be partly a result of that and let me just say something I'm all for cleaning air up and I have nothing against one of the things that I worry about is it I'm hoping people are going to be using a blood hammer uses searching tool the surgeons tool phrases things place like the National storm prediction Center it's tornadoes and severe weather these things have been plaguing our country since our country was founded they're not gonna go away just like the kids are not gonna go away we do need more research in the vital areas where we just sticking people in the way of population in the way we just to go well it's global warming that insurance golf course because they're going up when you look at the population on the Coast line and people wanna build a House on a Beach or in a flood plain or whatever even with the wildfire situations in the Western part of the United States while fires have been down and yeah all his more damage why do you think that is their houses in places where houses work there 50 60 years ago but getting that we've cleaned a lot of the particular it matter the inferences there is a vast difference between carbon dioxide which is older list and you can't see okay has very very little fact in relation to the entire atmosphere it's only point oh for percent the atmosphere malek climate patterns and carbon suck and so for dioxide and East things and some how to label a pollutant the carbon dioxide pollution when you exhale hundred times more than you inhale and the Earth now is greener than any time it's been in the satellite error and just to do that is just bullshit my opinion but it's done to put this bad label on something so it activates the public but since over dioxide carbon said so we clean the air we but they less smart days in Los Angeles the Western party says what does that mean for incoming solar radiation and the Sun right well as stitch brighter now on the side to set something no brighter but the rate is more radiation coming to dry areas when the ground is dry and heats up for I am when you heated up more what do you think happens to the overall temperature the feedback in the atmosphere alright I said I want you think about something well Los Angeles and southern California between 30 and 40 40 North right well go ladies to 30 and 40 North and North Africa that's how are desert in that area right now why that it doesn't there well because it's bright and sunny in this sandy soil so what do you think happens right so I want you to consider you take Las Vegas friends as people go look at how much Las Vegas pictures come up well the word over the year when he first develop Los Angeles the what was in the Middle um excuse me Las Vegas the airport in the Middle of nowhere now going to Las Vegas and landed Strip is urban spall over this golf courses old which just amazing to me with the way is water shortages we have all these golf courses I've not to disparage the golf industry mind my sons actually golf pro so I'm not disparaging the golf industry what I'm saying is that you start watering put more moisture in the air what do you think that does to the temperature at night night because of more water near the evaporated process is change the temperatures drop so you're seeing that which is which easy is your sink the monitors that we're in the Middle of nowhere one time now are in urban sprawl and they say look at it's warming up really is that brain surgery so there are other things that man is doing to get a one the climate a shock ling ling the engine that is led to the prosperity that make it possible for you and me and all the people that don't believe me to do what they do today whether you wanna protest this or not or what you was a no you're still on your computer you're still watching your Tv you're still doing this you still doing that you're still doing all these things much easier because of fossil fuels I'll tell you what I tell you alicia okay we see open a can of warms it but his that's what you do if the if you believe all this stuff I want you to live of fossil fuels for year I want you to also not only live off the fossil fuels them just how about riding bike but you're not allowed to use anything that needed fossil fuels to be bathed include hey thinking of a lot of phones right I guess what guess we have a lot of work wind turbines to how do you how do you think how do you think those wind turbines one up and it that's it that's the other thing I am you get a guy like me I am all for solar and wind power now tell you why I started my business goes it's a it's a smart thing to do on a money important they're saying is this if I can improve the forecast for those wind turbines so they know hey we're gonna have this at this time this is that time guess what I'm gonna cut cost and that's what they gonna be interested in because you can store that electricity and transmitted efficient but say it's fine when it's windy out is generating and you get the pot but what happens when there's no wind and it's still power needed you need store yeah each stored energy with your Bird to call a new killer whatever is going on by so so but to be able to improve that vital link in here but the fact of the matter is today if you really want use when its solar power use it on houses and apartments and places where you can do eight miles an hour wind turbines are turning fast enough to generate electricity free House bang your your electricity goes down your electricity rates go down because you're using your own and then when you need to use your own see that me that makes some sense to me yeah it's not it's nothing against stuff people have all your climate the climate is always been changing the biggest mistake ly side me was to get in a fight over global warming and we what we should have called it way back when natural climate change instead what happen was when the establish your leveled off they Co opted the word climate change yep than that made it so you deny the climate changes when all we've been arguing for years as the climate is always change anything stop without man well Joe I really appreciate you coming on today and everyone should be sure to stay
