Had lunch there today. The schintzel was amazing as was the kraut. Hubby had the moo burger and loved it. The kiddo tried the quiche and loved it and the salad especially with a fantastic dressing.... We also had to sample the sweets and they were all wonderful. We tried the cherry danish, the German apple cake and a blueberry muffin. Definitely one of the hidden gems in Waco. Very friendly owner and great place to eat and relax. Also some great different soft drinks to try. See More

This is an excellent place for lunch. I had a very tasty turkey sandwich with pears and other items I cannot remember. The environment is very cozy and inviting. The owner was very friendly and wil...ling to answer questions about the menu. I feel that the pricing is reasonable for the quality and serving size. I will definitely return. See More

This was a wonderful, lucky find. The omelette was the best I'd had in quite a long time, and came with a lovely simple salad.

I saw they had a vegan pumpkin on the specials board. I'm asked the pro...prietor if it was too early, and he said it wasn't too early, but he needed to see if they still had any - apparently they had a young woman come in last weekend and try it, and came back yesterday and took nearly all they had. After trying it, I understand why. See More

My wife and I stopped in Waco to see the sights and needed to find a place for lunch. She found this place online and we decided to try it out as we always like local eateries. We were greeted kindly ...and was introduced to a number of options for lunch. We were very happy with our choices and the food was AMAZING!! We definitely recommend this place for any one visiting Waco!! See More

Loved eating here in this "hole in the wall" local store with delicious fresh food made from local ingredients. Will be back! The moo burger and beef stew was delicious. I liked how it included kimchee.

Delicious food, wonderful service! The food here is all homemade! There are so many organic, vegan, vegetarian, and locally sourced products here. The shop is a bit small but DO NOT let that deter! Craig Parker, the owner, is so kind. He took the time to show me around and explain everything they offer. it was hard to choose! He explained some of his history and the meaning behind Provender (I'll let him explain to you what it means, now you just have to go find out ;) it was interesting.) He told me they cure ALL their own meats from ham to bacon and sausage. I decided to try the Oink la la it had ham, Smoked Gouda and pears with his house made German mustard, It was delightful! There is an array of sandwiches, salads, German foods, Italian foods, baked goods, they even pickle and ferment their own veggies and Kraut! I can't wait to try the sauerkraut, it's real fermented kraut! Craig told me about a traveling brunch he does every Sunday at different locations around town. I cant wait to take my family here and I hope my mom comes down this weekend so I can treat her to The Provender. He also said he is at the Waco Farmers market on Tuesday and Saturday. Craig has deep roots as a wine maker and I eagerly look forward to the wine selection he plans to carry in the future. We will be customers of The Provender as long as it's around!! I'm so glad there is a place like this in Waco, it is a MUST if you're ever in downtown....HECK, I drive 25 miles from Valley Mills just to enjoy this place! See More

Great deli that strives to use organic and locally grown products. Great sandwiches, salads, quiches, desserts and more. Good service. The only downside is the atmosphere. Needs to be updated/brig...hter. Highly recommend you give them a try. See More

I emailed the owner about making a Turkish meal for my Turkish exchange student friend, and he made us three different dishes at a very reasonable price. He went out of his way to get us lamb and othe...r irregular ingredients - my friend said people don't normally make some of these dishes in the home because they take so much time and care. But he made her, she said, a very good, very Turkish dinner:) See More

Their banana bread is to die for! One of my absolute favorite things to get there. I think I bother them too much to make me some. Can't ever get enough of it! (:

Great sandwich, fresh bread. The turkey pastrami was dynamite. I would love to see them able to expand to a little larger location. I'll be back.
