We had B&B on Saturday 20th May. We were attending my Niece's Wedding locally at 1pm and we were allowed to use our room from 11am to change before the Wedding ...at no extra charge. Thank you The Radnor.
The choice at breakfast was excellent: a lovely bowl of fresh fruit, cereals, fruit juices, Danish pastries and toast. Also a great choice for the cooked breakfast, not only a full "Welsh/English", but smoked salmon, kippers and smoked haddock on the menu also, with plenty of tea and coffee.
Our room - Room 6 was rather small, but the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had been refurbed with a lovely power shower and a spa bath. The bed linen and towels were spotless.
The Service at reception and at breakfast the next day was 1st class.
Unfortunately, the hotel is a little tired looking and it could do with a lick of paint in places (up the stairs) but I have a great affinity with this place, having spent a lot of my teenage years in this pub, back "in the day"!
All in all, it is quirky, but it was an excellent service
and great value for money.
We would certainly stay here again when visiting friends and family in the future.
Well done The Radnor.

We were a party of 13 who had prebooked a table to eat here...... after we had arrived and had a few drinks the manager approached us to tell us a lot of the m...enu was out of stock or low stock..... not a great start however the manager agreed to knock us a small amount off the bill so ok fresh start! The starters we had were very nice and probably would warrant being awarded 4 stars at this moment...... then we had an extremely long wait until the main meals arrived...... they also arrived one at a time with between 5 and ten minuets between each one coming so the service was shocking. It was a shame really cos the food it's self was ok/edible and well presented but we didn't get to eat together. I think the chef probably needs a good kick up the a**e and maybe having more staff would help. See More

Too much trouble to gut fresh trout.

Dreadful. Came for lunch at 1pm and asked for 'Presteigne trout' on the menu. Barman said the trout had 'just arrived' and... was not yet available. Half an hour later I asked again. Barman said the trout was not yet gutted. I asked him why the chef could not gut it now. Surely that would take only a minute or two? Was the trout fresh or frozen? Barman said that the trout was fresh but the chef was unwilling to gut it! He didn't seem to be bothered. I took this up with the manageress upon leaving and told her I had not encountered such poor service for many many years. Hence one star. See More

A great place with real character and a friendly staff. The meal was good but the delivery was rather slow. Would I go again? Yes I would.

Lovely place, BUT far to slow with bringing out the food. Food was good but waiting an hour is way too long!
