It's that time of year again folks, so here it is. "Favorite Year" a sweet Christmas ditty by me ol' band Random Manor. Miss those guys, and especially Don Short's songwriting. "and night comes to call it a day" - I love that line. Happy Holidays, kids!
We didn't know it at the time, but this would turn out to be our last gig. A great way to end it though, on a beautful September day in 2014 at the St. Michelle Winery opening for Boston. A little side-stage video of our first two songs of the set, Saved and Welcome to the Kingdom. Saved was usually our closer, but it made a great opener, and Welcome to the Kingdom is our tip o' the hat to Keith Richards and the X-Pensive Winos. Enjoy. It was a great ride!
Here's a little side-stage video of our first two songs (shot by my buddy Kurt Reifschneider) from last September at St. Michelle Winery, when we opened for Boston. I wasn't sure I wanted to post this, as the audio isn't great, but WTH!
The first song is Saved from Big Dog Run; usually the song we end the night with. The second tune is Welcome To The Kingdom. As yet unrecorded/unreleased, it's our tip o' the hat to Keith Richards and the X-Pensive Winos.
Great fun on a beautiful September afternoon in front of a packed house. Or lawn, as it were. Enjoy!
Hey Everyone! Just a quick heads up that Random Manor is on a hiatus of undetermined length. Real life has reared its' head and derailed our schedules for a while. Hopefully, things will work out in the not-too-distant future so we can continue to make music together, but in the interim look for Mark, Ronnie and Rick playing around in various bands, projects, festivals, bars and bus tunnels!
Thanks for your support and stay tuned!
Welp, that was fun! Beautiful evening, packed winery, great stage and a blast of a set.
Extra special thanks to Mark Carlson (sound), Mike Lull (guitars) and K...urt Reifschneider (drums, photos, llamas).
We've opened for lots of bands over the years, but I gotta say, the Boston crew was the kindest bunch of folks we've had the pleasure to work with.
To my band mates, Don, Mark and Ronnie. From my seat in the back, you guys killed it, and once again it was my extreme pleasure to throw down with y'all. Let's do it again real soon, hmm?
Tickets: General admission - 59.50
