Insightful article by our good friend and supporter Jon Lovell highlighting what he and his Hillbreak colleagues are doing to promote greater diversity and inclusivity in the property industry. Simple yet powerful actions that we can all learn from.

As Hillbreak pushes for greater diversity in real estate, Miles Keeping and Jon Lovell join Real Estate Balance as Senior Advocate Members and sign the Future of London Pledge on Diversity.

Great communication is crucial for building strong relationships, whether in business or on a personal level, as it can open up opportunities that allow you to positively impact and influence others. The Art of Great Communication is an introductory half-day workshop, which will equip you with a set of practical tools and techniques that will allow you to leave a positive and memorable impression on everyone you interact with in your personal and professional life.

* Perhaps ...you have been overlooked for opportunities because you don’t push yourself forward enough.
* Perhaps you get nervous and give in to other people’s views rather than putting across your own ideas.
* Perhaps you shy away from dealing with conflict because you don’t feel you are assertive enough to handle it.
* Perhaps you are hoping to take on a more senior role in the near future but lack the confidence to speak out about what you want.
* Perhaps you’re already in a position where you need to influence people but don’t feel you do this very effectively.
* Perhaps you feel that you are sometimes unsuccessful in getting people to take you seriously.

If any of these apply to you, then attending this workshop could change the way you interact with people forever.

In this half day workshop we will equip you with practical tools and techniques to help you to:

* have greater impact in your interactions with people;
* be more assertive; and
* positively influence people in day to day life.

Sign up today, you were born to make a really positive impact!

Career Planning: Doing the work you love, and loving the work you do

* Perhaps you have achieved career success but may be asking whether there is more to life than this.
* Perhaps you are already in, or about to enter a period of transition and you are wondering what next and how to identify the work you will love.
* Perhaps you are relatively content with your work and in a period of stability but want to make sure you keep on the right path and have ideas for the future....
* Perhaps you are returning to work after having children or a career break and want to explore your options.
* Perhaps you have ideas but lack the confidence to go for it.
* Perhaps you are unhappy in the job you are in and want to make a change.
* Perhaps you want to check that the work you are doing is really right for you.

If any of these apply to you then this workshop is a great investment in your future.

We are often reminded that “it’s never too late” to change career and start down our true path and this is certainly correct, though it takes some thought, research and planning. So how do you figure out what your true path is and how do you get on it?

In this half day workshop we use exercises which will enable you to clarify:

* Where you are now and when you are at your best?
* What are your life and work ideas and expectations?
* How might you get where you want to be?
* Your plan of action.

By clarifying strengths, talents and skills, and finding creative new ways to think about work, participants leave with a renewed sense of purpose and a clear idea of their next steps together with tools and practices they can re-use in the future.
