Considering there is an equal number of women married to every successful man (except a few), I do not understand why women's status is so low in business and work outside of home.
If everyone of the...se women married to a man with a successful career + women who are successful on their own got together and help other women, women in this world should be far better off than all the men taken together.
For a long time I wondered why it has not happened. Recently, it occurred to me that each of these women would bear responsibility for several other human beings - their children. So, they don't have time or resources to help other women. So the problem or the gap continues.
Women, even if you are married to a successful man and you are busy with your kids and house, you should always reach out to help a woman in need.

ReBoot is an excellent way to break this vicious cycle. Love this movement.

This is a truly amazing group of women working to help women get back into the workplace after doing the hardest job in the entire world, which is raising the children while putting their own careers on hold.

ALUMNA MOMENT. “All experience is valuable experience.”

Meet Lisa Carey, Senior Resource Management Specialist at Deloitte.

Lisa had a compelling and diverse body of work prior to her career pause. She worked for Senators in D.C., served as Chief of Staff for the Federal Railroad Administration, and led sales initiatives and teams at IBM for thirteen years,

...

Then, following her career pause and significant volunteer leadership roles in her children’s schools and faith community, she pivoted and pursued her passion and became a grass-fed beef evangelist, co-founding her consumer food company.

When it was time to increase her upside, Lisa was ready to return to corporate, skilled up in tech, networking, and confidence at ReBoot Accel and landed a job at Deloitte.

We think Deloitte is incredibly fortunate.

Happy Monday. Here's to a strong start.

A powerful piece by Amy Nelson, founder of Seattle's premier co-working space for women, The Riveter.

"We sent women to work in this country decades ago as we embraced feminism. History pretends that we invited them to the table. But actually, we let them into the room without giving them a seat, let alone a chance to sit down. This tightrope walk is nearly impossible: Forty-three percent of highly trained professional women with child...ren leave the workforce at some point in their careers. The system is broken, and we know it. Yet we do nothing. Instead, we celebrate the woman who can juggle a career and children with grace, as if this is some sort of achievement. It shouldn’t have to be."

Which of these myths do you believe about women in leadership? Let's set the record straight, says writer Julianne Cenac for @Forbes.

Yes, statistically, there are more male leaders represented in most organizations. However, this does not preclude women from taking on leadership.

A power piece by ReBoot Accel CEO and Co-founder, Diane Johnson Flynn.

"Lack of diversity has long been the elephant in the room for the tech industry and everybody is painfully aware the industry is too pale, too male, and very young. Yet few companies are actually tackling the issue head-on.

Companies need to know diversity goes beyond the moral issue of equality. If a CEO was told software could make their enterprise 45% more likely to grow share and 70% more likely to cap...ture new markets and boost innovation, throwing time and money at it would be a no-brainer. Yet despite the fact that hard data shows that diverse teams — in terms of age, gender, ethnicity, background — are more effective, innovative, and productive, the majority of companies continue to ignore it."
