I most likely will not return to this restaurant. Arrived at 4:30 which is prime time for an evening dinner, yet the food seem dried up and tasteless. Definitely did not get my money's worth after one... plate I went back for seconds and actually felt like I was going to get sick in the restaurant battered fried shrimp, my favorite, was horrible the cocktail sauce did not taste like cocktail sauce that too was horrible. Food was alright, but I wasn't happy with the waitress telling my daughter's they couldn't be taking the crab off the Buffet because it was to be used to fry up with the other vegetables and meat. Bec...ause of that I'll never go back. See More

It's average for sure but I went on a Friday night and it was 14 bucks because I ordered hot tea... I was excited to see crab legs but they had no crab meat, bummer

Was no impressed with the buffet, if i go back it will definitely be around dinner time, not lunch time. Maybe a better selection for dinner.

We cane there on a Saturday afternoon/evening. It was around 4:45 and from previous experiences had been great (last time was 3 years ago). Well when we got there is was busy but was seated fast. We g...ot our drinks and the sprite gad no syrup in it (was just soda water) and when we tried to tell the waitress she could not understand what we wanted so she just went and got more and it was the same. Finally she figured it out. We (5 people) got our food and tried to eat it, however we could not even eat it because it was so horrible. In fact my husband and myself were feeling sick after eating. Our meal came to $50 and we only ate a few bites. We had to drive home to Grand Rapids and get dinner there again. I would not recommend this this place to my worst enemy! We will never be back! My kids and had lunch. I love the food. I hate the people who run it. David Cherry paid the bill and with cash it's was the exact amount. David asked Kristi Cherry for a few bucks for a tip. In the me...antime the server picked up the money with the tray. She brought the tray back and set it on the table. Then was telling my kids I don't tip here because they push for a tip and they pissed me off before. So saying that the server went by 4 more times and picked up the tray and set back down. The kids could not believe it. Needless to say she didn't get a tip!!! I will never tip there ever. See More

The food was ok. Not the best but adequate for the price. As so many others have noted, very pushy with tips. The waitress brought our change and stood at the end of the table staring at us until w...e tipped her. Asian buffet has a much better selection and friendlier staff. ( no one smiled either) I probably won't return unless invited by friends. See More

I was really disappointed in this place. I am not from around here so we read a bunch of reviews before picking this place. The atmosphere was less than welcoming. Kinda reminded me of a lunch room at... school. Theread was a big variety of foods but when we got their at 7pm I would expect the food to be fresh, most was not. I usually go for stuff heavy with vegetables but everything here that I tried tasted as if either not washed first or with the taste of rotten produce. Our waitress was incredibly kind but the food quality is less than fair. Wouldn't eat here again even if it were free. See More

One of the most disgusting dinning experiences I've ever had. Gross food, horrible service (which I would think is a hard task at a buffet, but they succeeded quite well) and the restaurant itself was... quite dirty. I have no intention of going back, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. See More

I really enjoy the food. HOWEVER I think it's rude how the weight staff runs up to the counter to make sure they have received a tip. I mean seriously is business that bad wth it's not like you pay ta...xes or anything on your business anyway. SMH See More

It was the absolute worst food I have ever eaten. Crab legs were flavorless, I love salty crab legs these tasted like they just soaked them in plain unsalted water. egg rolls WOW let me tell you the p...icture looks just how it tasted. The sushi was ok but didn't have more than 1 or 2 of the "good" ones out and then was charged 6.95 for 6 of them. And I couldn't believe how small they have gotten. Long story short. Eww gross puke never ever again. Asian Buffet will get my business. See More

Green bean were literally rotten. I brought this to their attention and he ran over to the dish and stirred it up saying no no see they're fine without even looking at them. I then said no no come to ...my plate and look, then the dish wasn't even pulled! On top of that there was no pizza until we were getting ready to leave, which is what my kids prefer to eat. The place is nasty. The floors, walls, tables, bathroom, you name it, I was not pleased. Never will I go back, and never will I let somebody else go there if I can stop them! See More

A LETTER TO THE TROJAN NATION FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT

January 12, 2018

Welcome to 2018!

...

Earlier this week our architects, construction manager, and FCS staff met to further plans for upcoming construction. This project will be very complicated and it will be absolutely essential that parents, students, and staff are flexible as there will be many inconveniences throughout this project over the next 3 years. Remember that we saved voters $30 million by not building a completely new high school, but instead are replacing a significant portion of the existing school while attaching new construction to some newer portions. As stated, that can’t be done without some degree of inconvenience.

So spread the word…for the next three years, our mantra will be: BE PREPARED TO BE FLEXIBLE! That said, during this project we as a staff and community will be focused on Student Safety and will remind ourselves to keep our “Eyes on the Prize” knowing that in a short period of time we will have a beautiful, safe, and mostly new state of the art high school for our students and community.

Here are some preliminary details you need to know:
1. Bids have gone out for the high school project. The Board will take action to award bids at their February 19 Board of Education meeting.

2. Demolition and remodeling of portions of the current high school will begin around March 26. The main areas addressed in this phase of the project include demolition and remodeling of the multi-purpose room and a few classrooms and storerooms in that immediate area. This will be the location of the new drafting/engineering and art rooms which should be ready for occupancy in September 2018!

3. As soon as the ground is ready, foundations will be poured for the new portions of the high school. This could happen as early as March 26, depending on the weather, but will definitely begin before the school year ends.

4. Due to construction, the parking lot between Edgewood and the high school will be off-line beginning March 26. Both principals impacted by this situation, Ms. Upham and Mrs. Chesney, are finalizing plans to reroute bus and parent traffic flow and will communicate these changes as soon as they are done. It will be crucial to the safety of our students and staff that parents adhere to new parent drop-off and pick-up locations.
I have to say again how grateful I am to our community for the gift of this new school. In conjunction with improved academic proficiency and all the other great things happening in our district, this high school may appear to be a capstone to our efforts. But that is just the beginning. We have much to look forward to as we continue our path to being THE beacon for educational excellence on the lakeshore!

All my best for a great second semester!
Bob Szymoniak, Superintendent
