Saint Eulalia's feast day today. Ora pro nobis.
"She was but twelve years old when the bloody edicts of Diocletian were issued. Her parents, knowing of her vow of virginity and fearing that her zeal would cause her to be a victim of the persecutions, sent her to their house in the country. Eulalia indeed escaped, as they feared, and returned to the city to present herself, with her young companion and Christian friend, Julie, before the cruel Calpurnianus, representing the viceroy of Diocletian. She reproached him for attempting to destroy souls, by compelling them to renounce the only true God." Read the rest at the link below....

Today is the feast day of the Translation of the Holy House of Loretto.
"IT IS TRUE that the authenticity of the Holy House does not constitute a dogma of faith. However, it is considered a historical fact and as such has been recognized by the sovereign pontiffs over the centuries even as other miraculous events have been acknowledged by the Church. As such there is valid reason in such instances for Catholics to respect and accept these rulings of the Church. The Church has always been cautious in its pronouncements. Many years passed before the Church officially accepted Lourdes and Fatima as supernatural events worthy of credence by all Catholics." Read the rest at the link below...

MEANWHILE IN FRANCE
The Institute of Christ the king has been given yet ANOTHER parish -- this time, in Lille, France. As parishes collapse all over the West, bishops are seeing the wisdom of inviting traditional Orders to take them over. ![]()
MEANWHILE IN CANADA
As one of the “architects” of the deconstructionist postmodern ideology underlying this trend, Jean-Francois Lyotard maintained that the utilization of language is power. According to Lyotard, the “truth” is controlled by the one who has the platform to speak. Thus, fittingly, authoritarians have incessantly sought to shutdown inconvenient speakers, those who advocate free speech, in an attempt to strip them of any power to persuade.
