A few weeks ago, I launched a national gun violence prevention Political Action Committee. I am one of the only Black, male faces in the space. My goal is to both change that fact, and to support candidates who won’t stop until everyday gun violence stops. Our candidates understand that gun violence is a public health epidemic, and that unless we’re addressing poverty and injustice, we’re not talking about gun violence prevention for all. We unveiled our first wave of candida...tes last week. Even though it’s not a criteria of ours, all three were Black men from under-resourced communities. Their lived experiences make them strong representatives for our communities. They each have worked to address inequities, and societal ailments within our neighborhoods all across the country. Their Primaries are today, and I honestly believe that their wins tonight will be historic. Next week we will be announcing 8 more candidates that we support. I believe that our ‘Our Everyday’ will grow to a point in which we’re helping to make sure that no candidate can get by without having a plan to address gun violence on their enumerated platform. Our number one goal is to make this the last generation to be faced with gun violence. It’s going to take us all to make that goal a reality. I’m asking for your support to help us grow.
