Today in the House Oversight Committee I questioned witnesses from the Justice Department, the Heritage Foundation and the ACLU about stingray surveillance technology. Stingray tech tricks cell phones to ping off of a device other than a cell phone tower. I have serious concerns about how this could be used to track individuals without a warrant.
