Always great to meet with Inland Empire residents in Washington! Thanks to Anne and Robert for making the trip out to talk about important issues like affordable health care.
Dr. King was a visionary whose ideas inspired a generation. 50 years after he was taken from us, we must commit ourselves to carrying on his vision for generations to come. #MLK50
Amazon is one of the largest employers in our region and has played a major role in the Inland Empire’s recovery from the Great Recession. Thanks for letting me help out yesterday on the latest stop of my Job for a Day tour!

I know President Trump doesn’t appreciate hard-working jobs like those of us in the Inland Empire, but these Amazon employees are proud of the work they do to help the Southern California economy.
I’ve extended the deadline for submissions to the Congressional Art Competition for high school students to Friday, April 13th! Visit my website for more information on how to participate for a chance to have your art displayed in the US Capitol.
This is a thinly-veiled attempt to bully immigrants and politicize the US Census. I’m glad that California is stepping up once again to check this administration’s anti-immigrant policies.
Today our community made it loud and clear that weapons of war have no place on our streets. I’m proud to stand with San Bernardino and say #EnoughIsEnough.
I’m proud of my community for stepping up and demanding change to #EndGunViolence. San Bernardino has shown time and time again that we are strongest when we stand together.
My colleague Representative Jeff Denham and I agree that this omnibus was an incomplete deal without a solution to #ProtectDreamers. Providing a pathway to citizenship for these young people is a bipartisan priority, and it’s time for House leadership to give us a vote. Read our full statement:
My office is accepting original artwork for the Congressional Art Competition until March 23rd! If you know a high school student in #CA31 who would like to have their art displayed in the US Capitol, learn more here:
Today marks six months since Hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico, and thousands of our fellow citizens are still living without power or reliable access to clean drinking water. The Trump Administration needs to step up and work to bring an end to this crisis.

Grateful for the chance to help distribute bags of groceries at the First Presbyterian Church Food Pantry in San Bernardino this weekend. Thanks to all the dedicated volunteers who make this service possible!
I was sad to learn of the passing of my friend Rep. Louise Slaughter— a trailblazer as the first woman to chair the House Rules Committee. She was a force of nature and I’ll miss her quick wit and passionate advocacy for women’s rights and working families across the country.
From San Bernardino to Washington, I stand with all the students taking action today to end gun violence and tell Congress that enough is enough.
My job is to listen to the ideas in our community and take them back to Washington, and discussions like these help me do just that. Thank you to everyone who was able to participate in the latest meeting of my Small Businesses Advisory Board!
Happy International Women’s Day! As we celebrate and reflect on the achievements of women in our community and around the world today, we must also continue pushing for progress until we reach full gender equality.
Funny how Jeff Sessions stops caring about states’ rights when he has a chance to push the president's anti-immigrant agenda. I’ll continue to stand with our local law enforcement and support these policies that keep our communities safe.
We’re still trying to solve the problem the president created when he ended DACA six months ago, but we can’t do that if Speaker Paul Ryan won’t even give us a vote. We need a real solution like the USA Act to #ProtectDreamers now.
