I'm Congressman Sean Maloney from New York. I wanna echo the thanks of my colleagues to the Governor to the Commissioner, to all of Our military, the Army and the Navy and Coast Guard to thank the folks at FEMA Homeland Security. All those involved in this effort It's clear that the initial response is coming together and, as the dust settles and we look at the long task ahead the challenges are overwhelming. And for someone who was in New York City on 9/11 I remember what it was like to watch as the place you went to work became a pile of rubble and what it felt like to run through the Street to find your kid at school, not knowing because there was no communication What you would find when you got there and I remember what it felt like when the country came together and stood with us not eventually - Not begrudgingly - immediately whole-heartedly enthusiastically proudly because it said something about us who we were. What it meant when times were tough. I also remember Super Storm Sandy and what that felt like and it took longer to get the help we need. But we got we came together as Americans and we rebuilt. You know this storm has done tremendous damage historic damage, but this storm can't destroy Puerto Rico. only we can do that. By our inaction by our heartlessness. Or by turning a blind eye. What's needed is vision. So I come here on behalf of the one million Puerto Rican New Yorkers, but as an American to say, we are here with you, we are committed to this. We will return to Congress and speak for you. We will be your voice. We will be your vote. Together with your Commissioner and all those who love this island and we will get through this together as Americans.
