Homelessness has been a major challenge for our community, and the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting economic damage has only made things worse. But this is not just a problem for our state or region. Homelessness is a national crisis that requires a national response. That's why I introduced the Prevent Homelessness Act to establish a housing stabilization fund to address the root causes of homelessness and help keep families in their homes. The bill would help struggling Americans afford expenses beyond simply rent, such as utilities, transportation costs, legal services and more, aiming to stop homelessness before it starts.
