When things aren't right it is our duty to engage in bringing truth. War machines around the world are driven by corporate greed as the lust for profit puts the people in play as pawns. There are far ...too many oil wars. We need to reveal why war is happening. Perhaps then humanity can come to terms with this dark side. See More

I spent a significant portion of my teenage years here surrounded by amazing and committed activists. WRL offered opportunities to kids to express themselves outside the status quo. I was privileged t...o have been part of SPEW 2 and work with memorable treasures such as Carl and Ralph and Mike Marsh. I cherish the time and work that was done there. I remember being a part of successfully kicking the ROTC out of Martin Luther King Jr. high school and visiting the Harvey Milk School. I remember handing out anti-war toy flyers at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, and how many mothers actually thanked me for that. Great times. WRL rocks. See More

We live in a day and age when small farms are all but smashed, with less than 2% of the US working men and women making income from farms and 20% less land in ag than 50 years ago, and virtually all o...f it in corporate hands.

At the very same time the moral and physical wounds of veterans is so under-served that 800,000 men and women are waiting for access to VA health care for injuries they sustained and at the same time dreading the care it will provide them, and just as many simply want to work...

Its time to change the way we think about access to land, and time to redefine our food systems and build real food security.

when I look at your wonderful Pie showing where our tax money is going - I realize there is probably enough money to purchase alternative energy for every low to mid income home in the US. Imagine the... environmental impact, the increase in useful jobs (not just jobs that make more plastic junk that is killing us), the relief to the average household spending a fortune on energy, the education of our youth in new skills for the future..... War is the business of the 1% and that business is killing us! We've been brainwashed into believing that a "good war" exists. WRL positions are at the core the Occupy movement. I don't know why I d...id not join WRL before, but as a person of Holocaust family, I have felt for years that even the war against Hitler should not have been fought. Of course he should have been crippled in the early 1930s, but the 1% would not do that. In view of what I've learned this year about the money system, I suspect Hitler was printing his own money and not paying the bankers, so that's why they decided he had to be knocked out. See More

While it's bittersweet to celebrate 95 years of resisting war, we're excited to gather as a community to rejuvenate ourselves for the long struggle ahead. This October we're taking the opportunity to celebrate WRL's history of resistance and continued commitment to ending war and its root causes while honoring a few of the individuals who carry on the kind of revolutionary work that promises to one day make us all free. We're proud to announce that we'll be awarding Chochenyo... and Karkin Ohlone woman and sacral site land activist, Corinna Gould, and The Peace Poets, a Bronx-born collective of artists that celebrate, examine, and advocate for life through music and poetry with WRL's 2018 Peace Award. We're also thrilled to announce that lifetime movement activist, Mandy Carter, will be accepting the Grace Paley Lifetime Achievement Award.
