Hi Ladies I am back from my holidays and I will be picking up my machine some time this week so back to the real world for me again. If you have any quilts that need doing inbox me or call me on 0488 986 614
Hi ladies, just letting you know that there will be no more quilting done until March. I have just done my knee in and had to go to adelaide to have an MRI an Xray done. Find out the results tomorrow. So since I was in Adelaide I took the machine in for her service as I won't be using her before March now with my beautiful injury. Sorry if this inconveniences you.
Happy New Year everyone. If you have quilts to be quilted, my cut off date for quilts coming in is the 20th January, this will give me time to complete them before I go on my cruise and also gives me time to book my machine in for it's service to be done.
Well I can't believe it is Christmas in 2 days time. Wow what a year it has been. I would like to say a huge thank you to all you wonderful ladies out there that give me the pleasure of quilting all your beautiful quilts. I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas day and I hope Santa brings you lots of presents you have on your list. All quilts are done for now so I finally did get them all done before Christmas. I hope to see you all next year with some more beautiful q...uilts.
Just to also let you know that I will be away in February 2018 for the whole month. The machine is going in for a much needed services and pampering and I am too so if you want any quilts done please get them in early in January as I will be having February 2018 off from quilts, Avon and Woolworth so some much needed rest is all I will be doing in February.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you all in 2018 xx
Hi Ladies, just a quick note. If you have your backing made up as a quilt as well can you please make your backing quilt larger than your top. Most people make them the same size and then place a border around it to give me the extra length I need to put it on the machine, but the issue here is that I can't see the back of your quilt when it is on the machine therefore I have no way of seeing if it is lining up. Borders are a real pain if it is a double sided quilt as you may end up with the border in the backing and there is nothing I can do to stop this happening so please if your having a double sided quilt make the back at least 15 inches larger to avoid borders making things hard for me to do.
Hi Ladies I have been a bit slack, as I have had some knee issues again and really busy at work so quilting had come to a bit of a halt but I am back into it tonight so Natalie your quilts are ready and Ann I am doing yours tonight and hopefully tomorrow.
So I had the day off work and decided to do a customer's quilt. This quilt was 102 x 101 inches. It cost $260.20 to quilt and we used the Lava pattern and a verigated cotton. The customer was very happy with the end result and I was too
For the ladies who are not local and want to get quilts done, but the cost of travelling here surpasses what you will save. Try the Stateliner bus services. All my patterns are on this page so you can pick your pattern. If you get a few ladies together you can share bus costs to get them here, just put everything in a box and I can pick it up and quilt it for you, you can pay with EFTPOS and I can send them back to you.
I just want to touch base on the way you work out how much backing and wadding you need. It is rather easy, all you have to do is work out how many inches your quilt is in width. Once you know the width of your quilt top you just add 10 inches to that and that is what you get your wadding and backing cut at when you purchase it. For Example if your quilt is 89 inches wide then you get your wadding and backing cut at 99 inches. Please do not trim the length of th...e wadding and backing as I use their nice straight edge to attach to my machine. The length only matters if you happen to have made a king or queen quilt as they are usually quite long. Things to remember is that your backings are usually 2.7 metres long so usually this is not an issue, how ever wadding is only 2.3 metres long so if you have a quilt that is over 100 inches in length you then need to purchase the longer wadding which is 3.2 metres in length. If you have any issues in working this out please contact me with your quilt size in inches and I can help you out.
Thanks for listening. Cheers Leah
Well that is another quilt done. I just love to see the quilt when it is finished. Just had a beautiful lady pick her quilt up and she was very happy with it. My new favourite pattern now is Cranes.
