Change of direction for 2018. This little Peugeot 106 has joined the RM Rallying fleet. Dad and I intend on doing some clubman/national B events. Main thing that I’m looking to get out for is the Exmoor Targa as a driver, likely navigate for dad on some 12 cars and see where things take us. Few odds and ends to repair and some tidying up to do. Be sure to check back in and follow the progress.

Off to spectate on one of our motor clubs stage rallies tomorrow, should be a fun (cold) day!

We had a great couple of days with some family and friends helping out on The One and Only Preston Road Rally, run by our local club, Chelmsford Motor Club. Two days doing set up and the whole of Saturday night on the rally, I was Assistant Chief Marshall and dad DSO. The service van made it through 5 sections on set up, only getting stuck once (Dad’s fault 😜) and unfortunately Gordon suffered a puncture on Reggie. Thanks go to Luis, Gordon, William, Neal and Richard for a great time.

Over the last couple of weeks the team have been out helping in the prep for The Preston Rally ("The One and Only") run by Chelmsford Motor Club, our local club, which takes place on the 2nd/3rd December.

They could still do with a few more marshal's, if you are able to help please get in touch via the Chelmsford website

Been quite some time since a post or any motorsport action for us. Dad was driving round Norfolk yesterday doing PR work ahead of The Preston rally. We’re both today helping out with The Bonfire Targa rally. No photography allowed of the cars/venue so you get a selfie #cold #chelmsfordmc

Last weekend we wrapped up our 2016 with the annual awards evening for the MSA Asphalt rally championship.

Lee and I collected our awards and had a lovely evening with family there to support us. I would like to say a huge thanks to Lee, he was a pleasure to have in the car and was so professional in his role. A big thanks to my dad for his support both financially and coming along to all the events to service and doing all the behind the scenes logistics.

As a team we set ...out at the beginning of the season to see how we did, with a mix of luck and hard work we came away with the best ending we could have hoped for!

As for 2017 there are no concrete plans, there are some jobs that need to be carried out on the car before it does anymore events.

After the excitement of the weekend it's back to work and normality. My next thing to concentrate on is the Preston Road rally with Chelmsford MC. I'm helping Luis with Marshall recruitment. With that said can anyone interested in helping out get in touch with me. Event takes place in Norfolk/Suffolk area on the evening of 3rd December.

Cheviot stages review

So this weekend see us travel to Otterburn again for the final round of the MSA Asphalt rally championship. After the drama and disappointment of Caerwent we wanted to try and finish the championship on a higher note. We were to be joined in Otterburn by the Smalley brothers. The B9 championship was all to play for, if we finished the event then we would win the championship, if we didn't and the Smalleys did then they would win!

Preparation for the even...

The big day has arrived. We will soon be heading down to the service area. We know what we have to do. Good luck to Smalley Motorsport who are championship contenders who are competing today.

In the words of Colin McRae...

'If in doubt, flat out'

No better way to end our season. Great food, some steak for Lee and some wine for Brian! Just simple lager for Rich the lager lout.

Now time for the best part of these weekends away!

All signed on and ready to go tomorrow. We are away at 0925. Recce has gone well and plenty of changes made to the notes. Will be a shame to see the season come to and end (well except the taking over of life and the bank account drainage).

All loaded up for a 0400 alarm tomorrow. A 5-6 hour journey up to Otterburn for the Cheviot Stages. Recce and scrutineering tomorrow and main event on Sunday. We are seeded as car 54 of 57, this is pretty disappointing and may cause us concerns but we'll see how that goes! (I'm supposed to be taking it easy).
