We came to rockwell on live music night. It wasn't too crowded and most of our table ordered the pulled pork sandwich and one had ordered the chicken strip appetizer in addition. It looked like more t...han enough food, but most of the menu items were out of budget range. Towards the end of our visit, the music became so loud to the point that our table gave up on trying to have a conversation See More

Decided to try out Rockwell, but left with mixed feelings. There were only 4 tables and one couple at the bar, but it took over 20 minutes just to get our drinks and place our order. The waiter sat w...ith me as he took the order which seemed kind of weird. The food was slow for how quiet the restaurant was. Another 20 minutes for the appetizer, and twenty minutes longer for our sandwiches. All in it was over an hour just to get our food.

The couple next to us ordered, then waited forty minutes to find out the waiter had never placed an order for the woman's entre. I mention it because after they left the waiter took several minutes explaining to us what had happened. It was very awkward considering the couple had paid and left without a fuss.

When our food finally arrived the nachos were pretty good, but I was immediately comparing them to another local restaurant's which is never a good sign. My husband said his burger was good, but my Philly cheese was mediocre at best. It didn't taste bad, but had very little flavor at all. Not enough salt, the meat was undercooked, the cheese was dry and miniscule--not what you'd expect from a Philly. We both felt like the fries were the best part of our whole meal, though even they could have used a couple more minutes in the fryer. The food seemed really close to good, I hope they'll make a few changes because this place has potential.

All that being said, we felt like the prices were very fair excluding the bar. Our waiter was inexperienced but very nice. He seemed genuinely concerned about our experience. The place looked pretty great, kind of rustic meets industrial vibe that feels very Juneau. However they had oldies blaring that totally killed the vibe. That was kind of a bummer because it does have a good atmosphere. A little indie rock or folksy blues would make this place very memorable. Everything felt very clean and pretty well maintained. Overall it didn't feel like a waste of time or money, but i doubt we'd ever go back.

Tried to dine here last night for my birthday. Our waiter was friendly - very friendly - but overly boisterous to the point of scaring my normally outgoing 3-year-old daughter. He took our drink ord...er and returned a short time later. He attempted to serve my husband's beer off the tray first, reaching to the far side of the table, and then proceeded to dump the rest of the drinks on the metal table. Ice and liquid went everywhere, completely drenching my 9-month-old daughter. The waiter immediately left to "get new drinks" (as if that would be our priority?). My 3-year-old was upset and crying (not injured but startled by what had occurred). Other patrons were staring at us - it was embarrassing and humiliating, as if we'd done something wrong! When we got up to leave (my baby was soaked from the neck down, my legs and feet were wet, and my husband's pants were wet) - the wait staff seemed confused as to why we would leave without dining. Staff basically stood around saying, "Okay, bye" instead of trying to make anything right at all.

Very disappointing. I have heard mixed reviews on this place, and only tried it about a month ago. Our first visit was around 5 p.m. on a Sunday. The place was empty, the service and food were excellent. It's too bad that one atrocious experience like this means we will never be back.

When they first opened, the chef had a vegan broccoli soup and said they would have menu changes and would emphasize vegan options. It has not happened, and the one vegan options they did have got wor...se and worse until it wasn't good anymore. Now there are no dairy-free options at all. See More

The food, wait staff and bar is simply amazing. Everyone is very helpful and accommodating. We spent the past few days setting up for an event in their ballroom so we ate several meals here. Each tim...e the food was perfect and the wait staff was always quick, friendly and wanting to help. My husband and I work downtown and will definitely be making Rockwell our new place to go! First time at the Rockwell. Husband said the burger was really good. I had the prime rib french dip.. Did not like the bread that was used. Supposed to be toasted but it definitely wasn't.. Will not o...rder this again, but willing to give it another chance some other time and try something different. See More

7/19/14:
Erik, Deb, Lance and Sherri have made this place worth a visit again!! We were greeted warmly and had a table waiting. Our food was excellent and on time--the service was great and the waitre...ss came back to keep everyone satisfied. I have the happiest group of people here tonight. Thank you Rockwell!

7/4/14: Today I went in with a party of 6, and they were able to feed three couples before they were able to fit our order in. They served us two cold burgers, and were NOT able to return to service our table after they took our order. Best for 2-3 people, certainly was a mediocre start to our 4th...

The food was excellent! My only issue is with the waitress who SAT on the table next to us to take our order & the towel she had tucked in to the rear waist band of her skirt!!!!! ( major health violations)

Phenomenal Tommy has done an amazing job with the location. Lovely menu and Ross behind the bar is perfection on the cocktails Tommy's bread pudding and chocolate lava cake are out of this world.

Nice settings and good service. The menu is kind of lackluster though and the food is just okay, overpriced.

Food was great. Out of my favorite Pinot, but my son loved the spicy Mac and cheese! Cobb was fresh and beautiful! Staff was super nice and attentive.
