We didn't sell these at the store, as they came out right after we closed, but we know many of you may be in to this sort of thing.
PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE
RC Pet Products Wooly Wonkz Dog and Cat Toys
December 12, 2017...
RC Pets has become aware of a product quality issue with our Wooly Wonkz dog and cat toys. Pieces of sharp metal have been found within the stuffing of a small number of toys, which may cause harm to your pet if chewed or ingested.
RC Pets stands behind its commitment to maintaining the high quality of its products. While we are not aware of any issues impacting animal health, we are taking the precautionary measure of voluntarily recalling all affected toys and providing a replacement toy to our valued customers.
If you have an affected Wooly Wonkz toy, please immediately stop using the toy and go to : https://www.rcpets.com/advisorynoticercpetstoys/default.htm to obtain your replacement toy.

We hope all of our old friends and customers are keeping well and not getting too stressed preparing for the Holidays and dealing with the first signs of winter.
Here's an opportunity to get some great food for your pet and also an animal shelter from Open Farm (a Canadian, ethical food manufacturer) on this #GivingTuesday. We have actually been feeding Open Farm ourselves for the last few months, and while it isn't cheap, it does seem to be working well for our... three. On top of that, it's nice to think that you are doing what you can to buy a dry food that is being responsibly made.
Good luck to all who enter!
Wow, we can't believe it's been a whole year since we locked the door at RMT for the last time.
We're lucky to frequently run in to some of you when we are out and about in the city, and we can't thank you enough for the kind words that you often take the time to come over and say. We're glad we were able to provide a great place for you to buy your pet's favourite things and hopefully have a friendly and helpful experience. We truly miss the great conversations we had with y...ou, and the fun we had spoiling your pets.
We hope you have all had a great summer and we look forward to seeing and hearing from you in the future.

Happy Sunday, old RMT followers! We hope everyone and their critters are enjoying this glorious start to summer.

Here's some advice from our good friend Cat, over at ImPAWsible Possible on some indoor games to play if Fido is getting cabin fever....
Craig & Sandy
Too cold to take your dog outside for exercise ? Here's some indoor alternatives :
1. Play fetch up and down stairs;
2. Flirt pole fun! Take a 3-5 foot piece o...f 1/2" -1" pvc pipe. Run a rope through it (3 times length of pipe. Tie a knot at one end of rope to prevent it from pulling through the pipe. Attach a favorite toy to the other end and let the chase games begin!
3. Hide and go seek. Put your dog in a stay or have another family member hold your dog so that you have time to hide. Run and hide and then call your dog to you!
4. Find Tupperware containers with food or toys. Same set up as hide and go seek but hide the toy or food container instead of yourself. Return to your dog then release them to go find the hidden "treasures"
5. Snuffle mat for feeding or food toys. My faves are Kong Wobbler or DIY toys like food hidden in boxes with newspapers. You can adjust level of difficulty to the dog.
6. Tricks or other training
What type of activities are you doing with your dog this week?
Our apologies for not writing an update before now. We decided to take a short break and do minimal business related work to recharge a bit after a hectic August.
First, we'd like to thank everyone who has taken the time to comment, send us emails or express their feelings when we call regarding existing grooming appointments. It is very humbling to hear how much people loved our store and the way we chose to operate. We appreciate all of your comments so much. Thank you, fro...m the bottom of our hearts.
For those that we haven't spoken to directly, primarily we are another victim of the extended downturn in the Alberta economy. Add to that a very crowded pet supply marketplace, increased costs to do business, and the ethical and product requirement lines that we refused to cross, and the store was no longer financially viable. Unfortunately, discussions with the landlord were not productive in coming to a settlement.
If you have a grooming appointment scheduled, we will be contacting you directly. Justine has found other employment, so we can let you know where she has gone.
We have spoken to Champion and Petcurean, and there should be no problem transferring your frequent buyer plans to another retailer. Please email us and we will provide a report in PDF format that you can print and take to your new spot. A copy will also be sent to the manufacturer so that non-RMT shoppers can't try and pull a fast one and get free product!
We will be keeping this page up and still occasionally posting updates or articles or other bits and pieces, so please feel free to continue to like us. If you want to post an update on how you and your critters are doing, that would be greatly appreciated too.
We tried to operate our store not as a place for customers, but as a place for friends. It became an extension of our home and we will miss each of you stopping in to visit and share a bit (or a lot) of your life with us. Should you wish to stay in touch, please email us!
Our email is still email@example.com (it will be kept for the foreseeable future).
We hope you enjoy the rest of the summer and fall (our favourite season) with your family, friends and furkids.
Until next time,
Craig & Sandy
