Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories are in place ahead of a winter storm today and tomorrow! Mountain areas could see over a foot of new snow through the next 24 to 36 hours. Snow is expected to end by Tuesday afternoon. Check weather.gov/gjt for the latest forecast for your area.

The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for this area on Saturday. Snow and gusty winds will impact travel, especially over the passes.

Customers and businesses on and around Society Drive in Lawson Hill, remember that a power outage has been scheduled between 1:30 pm & 5pm today. Work is being... done to connect new construction.

Many of the locations will only experience only a short (15 - 20 minute) outage. A few businesses will be out for the whole 3 1/2 hour period. Businesses have been notified.

Customers of businesses on and around Society Drive in Lawson Hill, please be aware that, due to weather conditions, a power outage previously scheduled between... 1 pm & 5pm today has been postponed until Thursday, February 8th. Work is being done to connect new construction.

The outage is now scheduled for 1:30 pm to 5 pm on Thursday, February 8th. It will affect the Telluride Conoco and businesses on Society Drive in Lawson Hill.

The ice rink at the SMC Fairgrounds in Norwood is open! It will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. everyday, but may close intermittently if the weather is too warm to support ice. Come check it out!

County offices will be closed on Monday, January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Offices will reopen on Tuesday the 16th.

The SMC Road and Bridge Department now has an online form for road repair requests and comments! The form can be found on our webpage and is intended to be a quick and efficient method for alerting us to an issue with any of our county-maintained roads.

Alternating traffic and delays on Keystone are expected to last throughout the morning.

If you need somewhere to take your tree after the holidays, you can drop it off at the rear of the county parking lot in Lawson Hill. The disposal site will only accept trees and they will be chipped on January 31st. Please remove all lights and decorations.
