Participatory Budget Funds - a message from Dorothy Guthrie

Three of the Scone groups who applied for the Participatory Budget funds have been successful in being chosen for the shortlist. You can vote online, the link is at the end of this message, or you can attend Coupar Angus on Saturday. It has been agreed that we can have 2 ballot boxes in the village for those not online and unable to visit Coupar Angus. The Spar and the Scone Sweetie Shop are both prepared to take ...the boxes and the voting sheets, they should be in place by 11.30 tomorrow 20th February.

Individuals have to vote for 3 groups and the representatives for Scone are, Humpty Dumpty, Scone Carpet Bowls and Scone Institute. It would be great if all 3 could receive some funding, but we do need the votes. I am arranging for posters to go up in the halls and I will try and get along to the Hub on Wednesday morning and if possible get posters up on the community boards.

Below is the abstract from the email sent by Community Planning Policy team to me and the shortlisted groups.

Apologies for the short notice but there has been a shortage of staff due to sickness at PKC, hence the short notice!

Kind regards

Dorothy

The abstract:-
As you know, the participatory budgeting events are taking place over the next month in the three wards of Eastern Perthshire. The first of these will run from 11am – 2pm on Saturday 24th February at Coupar Angus Town Hall where all the projects will be on show for people to make their decisions, and where the results will be announced.
In order to include community members who are unable to attend on the day, an online survey has been created, running from Friday 16th February until Friday 23rd February at noon. The survey results will be collated before the event and will then contribute to the overall vote at the event on the 24th.
We would like to invite you to take part and share this link with your network within the Strathmore area of Eastern Perthshire: http://pkc.EP-Vote-2018.sgizmo.com/s3/

A community council has won a fight to have a recording of a controversial planning meting released

Recording of planning meeting to be released
dailyrecord.co.uk

The decision of the Scottish Information Commissioner regarding the release of the recording of PKC Development Management Committee in May 2017 and our response.

“This is good news, and we are pleased to see good sense has prevailed. This is also in line with what the majority of P&K councillors agreed to. We hope this recording of meetings will continue as it will allow us all to clarify uncertainties regarding the process, which inevitably arise when recordings are not available and minutes brief.”
