We have been in a transition period with the change in Lead Investigator status which is now the Bureau of Indian Affairs. (BIA)
This passed week has been a very busy one for us and BIA. Things are moving and more cohesive now then it ever was since the beginning of this search....
I’m sorry it took so long to update but we had to be sure the foundation of this new team was a solid one.
We will be continuing the city searches in North Dakota.
Williston, Watford City, Stanley, Minot, and Grand Forks need more help. Fargo, And Mandan will be starting shortly.
We can’t help but feel grateful for everyone that checks in on us and volunteers to bring Olivia home.
Please share the page and stand by for further updates.
Matthew Lone Bear, of the Lone Bear family will be attending this event to stand in Solidarity with Mariah High Hawk’s family. We have seen the strength of this family in trying to find answers. We encourage anyone and everyone to look into the plight of the High Hawk’s family.
Mariah was found deceased under a flatbed trailer. Rapid City Police Department have said her official cause of death was hypothermia despite h...aving multiple bruises on her body and face. We can’t help but notice the defensiveness of RCPD.
We will do what we can for this family.
Rapid City Police Department (RCPD) Know For A Fact Mariah Didn't Die From Hypothermia
Its sad how they try an cover up her death because everytime they talk t...o the news they always have something different to say Capt. of Police Told The News When They Very First Started Investigating Her Death “
Any number of possibilities are being looked at right now," Johns said. "Obviously, the weather may have played a role in it. It wasn't freezing cold. But hypothermia does have an impact on people when it's chilly & The Night Mariah Went Missing The RCPD Claims There was freezing rain falling that turned into snow but that's not true either That night I went Outside And Mariah's Brother Tyson was standing outside smoking a cigarette I asked him what was wrong because he had a worried look on his face an he said My Mom&Dad told me Mia and Andrew Was Arguing And She Followed Him Out The Door.. but that night it was very cold but there was no snow it was raining earlier that day but it wasn't raining that night
When The Detective Steve Neavol Came and talked to Mariah's Mom and Dad
He said this looks like a homicide, and that there was no alcohol or drugs except Marijuana in Mariahs System
but A year after her death the Police say prescription painkillers found in Mariah High Hawk's blood likely clouded her judgment. Investigators believe she ran after her boyfriend following an argument and sought shelter under the trailer from freezing rain. Again they put freezing rain which there was no rain that night just during that day and why would Mariah look for shelter underneath a utility trailer when she is less than 10 minutes away from home NOTHING the Police department ADDS up
She was a good women who didn't deserve this she deserves to be here with us today!!
Our hearts are with the Savanna Lafontaine- Greywind family this morning. This is happening today. If someone can go in our place that would be great. Wish I could make it to Fargo to be with the family at this time.
Whew! Still just working on the ground search in the neighboring areas and going to a lot of meetings. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to search for Olivia? ❤️
"Each canvassing team will be equipped with special maps and instructions on how to search in an organized way. Currently, existing teams in nearby towns are checking streets, checking local wrecking yards, Walmart parking lots — anywhere a truck can disappear. Team leads will be sent a map and high quality, up-to-date flyers, red ribbon, red pin on ribbons, and updated press kit.
Since her disappearance, Olivia Lone Bear's family has been leading a continuous search for her on Fort Berthold. The searchers also are looking for the pickup truck she was driving when she was last seen in New Town on Oct. 24."
We will be meeting at Alison Martells this morning for the #SearchingForOliviaLoneBear Search in Dickinson this morning. Please PM Alison for her address. Time will be 8:30-10 AM. I have Backpack for Kids this morning and I, myself, won’t be available until 9:30-10. Alison will be giving out assignments of the area remaining as we’ve covered a lot of ground this week thanks to Community Support and Local Law Enforcement support. We live in an awesome community and could use more volunteers!! Thank you for your support!! - Nellie Mahto - Dickinson ND
"Relatives of a missing Native American woman have moved their search beyond the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation to North Dakota’s larger cities, the family recently announced.
Olivia Lone Bear, 33, has been missing from New Town for three months. The mother of five was last seen driving a pickup truck on Oct. 24.
Lone Bear’s family said they’re expanding the search and seeking volunteers in Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot and other cities."
"Nellie Mahto, who is heading up the Dickinson canvassers, said they will be at the Holiday Inn Express on Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Sunday from around 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Holiday Inn Express offered the space free of charge, Mahto said. On Friday and Saturday they may be working out of a volunteer's home.
Each person who comes to help will be assigned a section of town to search for the vehicle. Mahto said right now they need more volunteers to help.
"Hopefully word get...s out and hopefully her name stays in the spotlight," she said. "I know I'd want someone to help me if something ever bad like that happened. To not know where your child is looking from the dad's perspective and from the kids' perspective they're probably wondering where their mom is."
Dickinson team has a strong start. Thank you to the Dickinson Community for stepping in and helping.
Good turnout this morning! Community involvement! Our hearts are full. The Dickinson Police Department came and offered assistance and looked to see how we are ...conducting the search. Tribal police called yesterday to offer their assistance too. School teachers from my junior high days and Titan Oilfield made an appearance! We meet again tomorrow. We are here from 8 AM- 10 AM to give out assignments. 🙂 And Allison Martel has been a major help in helping me organize and answer questions. #SearchingForOliviaLoneBear
The Dickinson Team is starting today!! If we have anymore Dickinson people that would like to assist please text or call 701-595-3114.
We need more people in Minot, Bismarck, Fargo, Grand Forks, Williston, Watford City, and Stanley.
We will be meeting at the Dickinson Holiday Inn Express Conference Room to begin the process of looking for the truck that has still been missing and not locate...d. If you would like to assist by driving a few blocks for their family. That would be appreciated. Time to meet today is 8:15-10 AM Time put in will be when you finish your area. Thank you on behalf of the Lone Bear family and friends.
Well, at the beginning of the week we were trying to reach 5,000 people following this page as we search for our missing sister, Olivia Lone Bear. It's truly amazing how many people are keeping their eyes open. We are now creeping up, in a little less than 7 days, on SIX THOUSAND followers.
We cannot express how important and thankful we are for the support we've recieved. Please continue, if you have a sec, to invite your friends to like or follow the page. This is the only... place we keep the most up to date information (though most FAQs are answered on searchingforolivia.com) so when you share, you're making a bigger impact than you might realize.
This page has done a lot to help the search... from helping us get funding for food for searchers when we had the huge ground search going in New Town (we have expanded into nearby cities now!) to endless prayers to keeping police accountable. We feel this love and feel the community embrace through this page. It keeps us strong as a family knowing you all have our back.
THANK YOU for it now and always. THANK YOU for caring about Olivia's life, family, kids, friends, community, and so many more people she represents that are missing. Native folks don't often get very much attention so for this, we are just so, so thankful and will continue to do as much as we can to bring her home safely and to serve other families of missing Indigenous people in every thing we do.
THANK YOU for this incredible artwork featuring Olivia, James Autio! Art is one of the strongest ways we have been able to keep visibility up around Olivia's disappearance in late October.
If you or anyone you know has seen her or the truck, PLEASE call us! 701-595-3114. ALL information we are able to release can be found at SearchingForOlivia.com
Artist Eliza Ivanova made a gorgeous sketch of Olivia. THANK YOU!!! Please share!!
"Olivia Lone Bear has been missing for almost three months, last seen driving west on Main Street in New Town after leaving Sportsman’s Bar.
Her brother said the decision to search city locations came from another missing persons case in which he said a missing truck was found in a residential area.
Lone Bear also said searching the cities allows volunteers the comfort of searching from their vehicle rather than on foot in cold weather."...
