On the Kim Davis Situation -- Are Her Actions "Christian"?
If you want to get to know me a little better regarding where I'm coming from as an atheist advocating for a Secular Now, this is for you. I look forward to getting to know all of you as well! — Rick, @OnSixes

This forward is going around:

The movie "Corpus Christi "is due to be released this June to August. It is a disgusting film set to appear in America later this year which depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theaters for a while. It's called "Corpus Christi" which means "The Body of Christ". It's a revolting mockery of our Lord. But we Christians can make a difference. That's why I am sending this e-mail to you. If you do send thi...s around, we just might be able to prevent this film from being shown in Australia, Canada and America etc. Let's stand for what we believe and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Savior. Where do we stand as Christians? I am forwarding this to all I think will respect and appreciate being informed. Please help us prevent such offenses against our Lord. There is no petition to sign, no time limit, or minimum number of people to send this to.It will take you less than 2 minutes! If you are not interested and do not have the 2 minutes it will take to do this, please don't complain if God does not seem to have time for you. Imagine what would happen if this film were depicting Mohammad in the same way...the Islamic world would be in flames!!. Apparently, some regions in Europe have already successfully banned the film. All we need is a lot of prayer and a lot of E-mails.JUST GET THE WORD OUT!....Will God be able to find at least 50 righteous people who are willing to express their concern and voice their opinion against this act of blasphemy?

Boycott it.... spread to all your contacts

I’m not saying Dems are the only ones with answers, but it’s a good read and all too real if you come from a rural bible belt area.…/insider-explains-rural-christi…/…

In deep-red white America, the white Christian God is king.

This is not normal, nor is it okay. #Resist!

Apparently, every US Attorney's office will now have its own political officer, to ensure that there are no checks and balances.

Everyone will now be reporting to a political appointee whenever a case involving so-called "religious liberty" comes across their desk.

Awesome news coming out of Iceland for their younger people!…/00-icelanders-25-years-or-youn…

Iceland seems to be on its way to becoming an even more secular nation, according to a new poll. Less than half of Icelanders claim they are religious and more than 40% of young Icelanders identify as atheist. Remarkably the poll failed to find young Icelanders who accept the creation story of the B...

This theocratic bullshit right here is why we must continue to fight.

If you though the religious right wielded too much influence in America already, just you wait.

Vigilance, friends!

“To be faith-driven is one thing, but to be faith-driven and try to create legislation on that that effects other people who don’t share your faith? That’s the beginnings of a theocracy, and we have evidence of what that is in the past. And our Founding Fathers specifically founded this country to prevent this from happening.” — Neil deGrasse Tyson

Just gonna leave this here.......

"Thoughts and prayers" amounts to ignoring the problem while convincing so many people that they are actually being helpful.

"Thoughts and prayers" is narcissistic, unhelpful, and unneeded.

We need secular solutions for secular problems. We need a #SecularNow.

The strongest argument for the existence of God, as often put forth by apologists such as Timothy Keller in "The Reason for God," is that apart from God, meaning and morality are necessarily subjective and so, therefore, anything goes. Apart from God, it is said, people can lie, cheat, rape, steal, and murder without impudence.

However, in the debate on morality, I would much prefer somebody choose not to lie, cheat, rape, steal, and murder because they wish to not cause anot...her harm rather than to not do those things because of a belief in a vengeful sky god.
It's tempting to think that the end result is the same, so where is the harm in faith, but with faith can often come doubt, and when faced with doubt, a person who is good only because of their beliefs suddenly finds him- or herself with no reason to do right.

Their position is truly pitiable, and so we must encourage and practice secular morality.

Happy Halloween to my favorite group of unbelievers and questioners. May you enjoy the day however you see fit, without worrying about gods or devils fretting over your soul because of the mask you choose to wear or for the secular human you are. Have fun out there.
