It was magical! Perfect for winter family night out ❄️ The only one thing - my 8 yrs old son asked to write that his ...favorite part from the book it’s “Sugar Plum fairy dance” was lovely and he coul...dn’t wait to see it and listen to his favorite instrumental part but he was a bit disappointed because of the lights. He said it should be darker while fairy is dancing, this music is mesterious, like magic. It was too bright on the stage...” Any way we loved it! Thank you SF Ballet! ✨💫♥️ See More

The ballet was fabulous and would absolutely get five stars BUT I’m docking one star for showing a commercial in between the second and third acts! Very tacky. People go to the ballet to get away from... technology, not have it forced down their throats. No more commercials at the ballet!!!!! 🤬 See More

I loved SF ballet’s sleeping beauty! The whole production was on point! (Yes, pun intended). The principle dancers were amazing And my boyfriend and I enjoyed it very much! The only parts I was cri...tical about ( and this is completely opinionated) were the costumes in act one. I know that Tchaikovsky is Russian but the Russian garments the Tzar and the Tzarina wore were too clunky and I didn’t think it helped the appearances of the character dancers. The only other thing I found disappointing was the last act where they cut out a few numbers. I was disappointed to find the dances of red riding hood and her wolf as well as the dance of Tom Thumb were cut out. It didn’t seem to make any sense to just have one couple from other fairy tales (puss in boots and the white cat) and not have others. Other than that, it was perfect. See More

Sleeping beauty was beautiful. The music, sets, and costumes were wonderful. The dancing was brilliant in places but slow and predictable in places. Worth the evening out but I have seen better.

The ballet was outstanding and a must-see!!!! We were in the dress circle, 4th row , middle seats and had a great view of the stage.
The hall was like an oven!!! It was super hot! The ought to do some...thing about that. Every time we go to the opera house, it is super warm! All they have to do is oumpbthe outside freahbad cool air in!
Please take care of this!

I wanted to see "Cinderella" since I found out it was going to be performed in San Francisco. It is not a very easy music to listen to, but I loved it. However, the performance was very weak and mostl...y boring, except for the stepsisters' parts. Some of the special effects were amazing, especially, the carriage. The costumes could have been much better. The ball was just OK, although, expected something magical. There was no Fairy Godmother, which made it weird. I hated the adult humor, such as the stepmother's hangover with throwing up. That was disgusting! See More

As always, SFB's performances were amazing this week (I saw 3 Swan Lakes and 2 Program 7s) Deffinitely one of the best companies in the world, but please don't allow drinks in the theater, it takes aw...ay the magic of live performances and I consider it disrespectful to the artists. I did hear a slurp during the White Swan adage and another one during Russian. Sad to see young people feeling like it was the movies. I hope the Opera House reconsiders this. See More

I loved!

Three works, all created for SF Ballet, and all delightfully distinct. Helgi Tomasson’s neoclassical On a Theme of Paganini, set to Rachmaninov’s brilliant music, shimmers with charm and romance. For Ibsen’s House, Val Caniparoli created a dramatic, emotional ballet from five of the Nordic playwright’s works. Myles Thatcher's Ghost in the Machine soars through Michael Nyman's minimalist score with edgy, fierce dynamism.

Composer: Sergei Rachmaninov
Chor...eographer: Helgi Tomasson

Composer: Antonin Dvořák
Choreographer: Val Caniparoli

Composer: Michael Nyman
