Black men lined up to protect officers in Baltimore. We see what we're looking for so let's look for all the good. So much good being done. Lots of work to do but let's not forget the citizens fighting injustice and standing in solidarity. Photo: reverbpress.com

Our hearts and prayers go out to the families of the officers who were gunned down in Dallas yesterday, the deadliest day for US law enforcement since 9-11.

It’s horrific that these officers were targeted and murdered just because they were wearing blue and doing their job protecting others. Please pray for their families, their fellow officers, and for our divided nation.

What we need on the ground for the next step to help people affected by Erskine Fire in Kern County. ‪#‎ErskineFire‬

Taking away a law-abiding citizen's 2nd Amendment rights does not disarm predators. It only strips people of their ability to defend themselves. ‪#‎2A‬

With gang violence on the rise in Bakersfield and sadly throughout our state, it is humbling to honor one who has selflessly reached out to hurting, lost young people and helped turn their lives around. Many in America have grown convinced the world would become Utopia if it wasn’t for evil, dirty oil. Ironically, these oil critics are always successful beneficiaries of the U.S. free enterprise system. When they demonize oil profits, they show just how misinformed they are. The relationship between…

California's Bullet Train Was Born Doomed And Will Never Be Completed

Chuck DeVore with Forbes writes:

"In the official ballot pamphlet, proponents claimed that the rail project would be funded with a combination of federal dollars and private investment 'WITHOUT RAISING TAXES.'

...

Now, almost eight years later, not a penny of private money has been secured, federal funds are increasingly scarce, and California tax money is drying up as well, meaning that the project will never be completed....

California’s high-speed rail project is a textbook case of crony corporatism—where powerful interests convince lawmakers to bestow valuable favors at taxpayer expense.

This was posted to my page, I thought it was worth reposting.

"I stand behind you in line at the store with a smile on my face...and a gun under my shirt and you are none the wiser, yet you are safer for having me next to you. I won't shoot you. My gun won't pull its own trigger. It is securely holstered with the trigger covered. It can't just go off.

However, rest assured that if a lunatic walks into the grocery store and pulls out a rifle, I will draw my pistol and protect ...myself and my family and therefore protect you and your family. I may get shot before I can pull the trigger...but, I won't die in a helpless blubbering heap on the floor begging for my life or my child's life.
No, if I die it will be in a pile of spent shell casings. I won't be that victim. I choose not to be.

As for you, I don't ask you to carry a gun. If you are not comfortable, then please don't. But I would like to keep my right to choose to not be a helpless victim.

There is evil in the world and if evil has a gun, I want one too." (Share with friends and family if you believe this too)

Democrats at the Capitol continue their irresponsible spending habits, despite warnings of a coming economic downturn. They are failing to save for the future and deal with the state’s crumbling transportation infrastructure as promised, and instead they continue to waste taxpayer money.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblywoman Shannon Grove, R-Bakersfield, joined her Republican colleagues to oppose the passage of the 2016-17 state budget this week because of its record, reckless spending, and misplaced priorities. Although state revenue projections for May were down $154 million, the budget Demo...

California legislators wasted no time in using the massacre to advocate for laws violating 2nd Amendment rights.

"At one hearing, Assemblyman Evan Low, D-Campbell, angrily confronted National Rifle Assn. lobbyist Dan Reid, accusing his organization of being responsible for the Orlando shooting because of its lobbying against gun control,” the Los Angeles Times reported.

“The reason they were murdered was because of your organization. Less than 72 hours ago, 49 people were slain in a nightclub in Orlando,” Low said during the hearing. “It’s very difficult for me to sit here and look you in the eye and have respect for you, Dan."
