I love this place, but it’s not my go to breakfast spot. Stopped on sat and didn’t have a 5 Star experience. For whatever reason the cashier was super slow yesterday. After we sat down people continue...d to hold the door open and none of the staff who I saw were standing around chatting said nothing to them, and considering the only table open was right by the door. Lastly both my pancakes and my bacon were burnt, still edible and ok. See More

The wait was super long and out the door. Was enjoying snowy April weather to boot. Once we got in the food was delicious. Great gluten free pancakes and amazing homemade corned beef hash. I highly re...commend it!!! See More

Great breakfast place in a prime location in Madison. The staff and vibe were amazing. Cajun biscuits and sausage gravy and a perfect egg. Loved the sweet potato and oatmeal pancakes. Best whipped I’ve ever eaten! See More

Pretty good selection of brunch foods. Extremely delicious cocktails and Cajun style biscuits and gravy. Not my favorite brunch spot, but definitely a nice place to try if you’re in the area.

We went here for my bridal shower brunch and the food was fantastic! I wish I didn’t live so far away because this would be my regular spot for breakfast!

Love SSE. Great people, excellent food, and they're open crazy early (great for families with a kiddo that wakes you up at 6am every Saturday and Sunday morning).

Stood outside in the cold for 30 min with a child and the line literally moved 2 feet. I watched the person ringing up customers at a glacial pace with literally 8 people ring up in 30 min. The wors...t part was the restaurant was almost totally empty. Totally empty!!!!! See More

One of the best restaurant breakfasts I've ever had. They know traditional, but then dress it up a bit. Match the superb kitchen with their creative decor and friendly staff, and I rate this an excell...ent eatery. I'll be coming back! See More

Went there for breaky and had pancakes and a blind. Never ever like pancakes as it is always too starchy but glad i tried and i could easily finish 2 by myself with their real maple syrup. The blind ...came out to be a burger, simple with delicious combinations. A little greasy on the grill but they used good fine oil so it wasn't too over, still taste good. It was one of the best meals i ever had. The hazelnut coffee is still brewing in my mind. Totally Impressed and you gotta try it yourself! Last but not least, price is reasonable too. See More

The Short Stack is the first restaurant to cook my eggs JUST the way I like them. I'm very impressed. I've been there twice. The first time I have the Cajun biscuits and gravy and eggs, with hot tea. ...Both the food and the drink were delicious! The next time I got the cheesy grits with pulled pork and pickled jalapenos and rosemary toast (and of course an egg on the side). What am amazing combination! Who would have thought rosemary toast would be so addicting? I can't wait to come back and try something new each time. My only critique is that they really need to turn the A.C. on as it was very warm and might the second time I went. Perhaps it's broken right now and they are trying to repair it. So I won't take a star off for that.
All and all, I highly recommend this place!
