Why do we do, what we do, everyday?
Are you following a plan, acting decisively?
Or are you just reacting to the world around you?
What do you value most in this world?
Mine is time.
I recently made a career move that carries huge risk, but if I succeed, I will have the life I have always wanted. I will have time. I will have flexibility.
I will have freedom.
This page is dedicated to our new life on the North Coast. The people, the places, and the experiences that make this beautiful place home. Carpe diem, seize the day, all that kind of stuff. I truly believe I have made the right choice, and this page celebrates all of that.
If you are interested in what happening up here, or looking for inspiration to make a leap into something new, come have a look inside.
Feel free to share it with your friends too!
Wow, I'm loving the progression of this story!
Last year I sold Jackie and Riaan this little home. They named it the mouse house and have been renovating ever since. It's been hugely challenging in every way but the results are fantastic. Check out Part 3 of the renovation here.
Take a walk through the 3 bedroom design for this incredible new development. Designed so all the bedrooms have sliding doors stacking into the wall and opening out onto their own private gardens. The lounge opens right up into allow an inside / outside style living to take advantage of the KZN climate.
Hey guys, I've been quiet on my activities up here on the North Coast recently, but not to say there hasn't been some serious ground work going down. Very excited to finally share with you the sole mandate I have been working on for the last 4 months!
This new development in the heart of Ballito. Unmatched contemporary design and finishes, and starting at R3,195 mil for a freestanding 3 bedroom home in a secure estate, it is unmatched for price too. Pet-friendly, AirBnB frie...ndly make it an extremely rare opportunity.
28 units remain in the 41 home estate.
Lots more details coming in the next few days.
Not one to get too excited by a new mall, but I've got to say the new Ballito Junction is doing a great job ! How's the new Checkers, free parking right near entrance (if you're under an hour) , great selection and merchandising ! Feel like Ballito just gave us another reason to never head south again.
Some fresh design inspiration for your week!
So exciting conceptualising and planning a new home, whether you are upgrading an old one or building from the ground up. Nothing better than having a dream and making it a reality. This house is in Oakland, California, is many a mile from here, but the architecture and interior decor is not far off the kind of design and quality you see in the new north coast estates. https://www.dwell.com/collecti…/trestle-glen-modern-299b4555
Part Two of the Mouse House Renovation! A quick recap, this is an old time capsule of a house that I sold to a childhood friend, and she happens to be one of the best photographers in the country. This blog is the journey of the renovation she and her partner Riaan are busy travelling. Enjoy! http://jackibruniquel.com/…/the-mouse-house-demolition-tim…/
Totally going to cheat because my milk stain of mo ain't going to cut it!
This makes my heart happy! I recently sold Jacki Bruniquel her first home. She is an old family friend and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish, one of the reasons I prefer to work with friends and family! When I saw the house I knew it was for them, and it was the first property I took them to see. This is the visual diary she is doing to document their journey. Doesn't hurt that she is one of the best photographers in the country too!
Ever since Jess passed away, I have wrestled with the best way to preserve her memory for our kids. I have been fascinated recently with the developments in art...ificial intelligence, and the potential once it reaches human levels and beyond. Just last night I stumbled onto something that blew me away, so I decided to write a little about it. If you are really bored.. and want to live forever, you can read it here
I LOVE Grand Designs!
It's by far the best thing on tv, and I could sit through an entire season in one sitting, I actually think I have done that. I'm not sure there are any episodes I haven't seen.
This little home was on last week and I loved it. It was built by Rebecca and Gregory, if you are looking for it, and it was a relatively modest budget. I really believe the future holds exciting, cheaper building materials with simpler more practical building design....
I'm going to build a house worthy of Grand Designs one day, Kevin McCloud will come around, roll up his sleeves, chip in and marvel at my cost effective methods and simplistic yet genius design. We will sip beers and laugh together when it finishes before schedule and under budget.
