What are some of your favorite places? For a good part of my childhood, I lived in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. This is an old photo of my little brother and I hiking through Jackson Hole valley when I was about 10 years old. This place was a huge influence on my music and my fascination with minerals and the natural world. <3

This quartz has now been in my family for over four generations...it is the first crystal I remember holding and staring into, many many years ago... <3

I'm not sure if you all know much of a difference you make in my life, so I'm just gonna tell you, straight up:

Time and time again, when I've been unsure of my path or my music, like when I run into a creative roadblock, a breakdown of communications with someone I'm working with, self-doubt or fatigue from too much touring, I'll receive a message or some spontaneous support from one of you - so...mething that has so much heart, honestly, beauty and kindness, it's impossible for me to ignore the potency of musical connection to my fellow beings, and how infinitely vital it is to continue, even when it's really tricky.

Just as often, when I have too little to get by or invest in the next step of this musical journey, I'll receive an order, donation, gig or opportunity at the exact right moment to make everything click, and somehow thrive. Every. Freakin. Time. After flying by the seat of my pants so often, how the heck does that happen?! I don't know how ya'all do it, but you've saved my butt more often than I can count.

Since I started producing music under "Skytree", in a way as my own DIY production-based therapy sessions - to alchemically work through my own struggles and trials and cluster cusses - I've been honestly astonished to see how much it seems to help and connect to other people, too. It's pretty intensely amazing. Actually, it's the best purpose I could possibly imagine for my music's existence.

(Well, that and blasting tracks out via radio waves into the cosmos or some unseen dimension, and perhaps also doing the same, healing or communicating, for some other species or energy...)

I'm pretty sure that on any world like ours, music is medicine. I put the most love, hope, transmutation, acceptance, beauty, optimism, mystery, creativity, healing, information, diversity and openness into my music as possible, in good part because it helps me remember those things and keep the faith. In times past, my music has kept my head up, because I have something to aspire to, and to remember - and you make that process so much richer, it's pretty incredible.

Basically, I have concluded that my friends, followers, fans, flame and fam must all not only be magic, but in excess of level twelve-trillion mage status. You have my humble thanks and musical services at your back, as you have had mine, now and for the rest of our lives together on Gaia. Here's to the Great Aum in the Sky. ॐ Meer weergeven

Ever experience those moments where something so surreal and improbable happens, everyone in the room just goes silent, caught in the serendipitous headlights of the Cosmos? Well, something especially trippy along those lines happened in front of me recently:

At a show in Worcester, MA a few weeks ago, I complimented my good friend Kyle on his new labradorite wire-wrapped pendant. He explained t...hat he had actually found it on the beach in Panama during his Envision Festival adventures this year, half covered in sand, and added that he had a feeling he was supposed to wear it until, one day, he found the original owner somehow. Obviously quite improbable, but a noble goal of course - better than it vanishing into the sea!

Fast-forward to the end of the event, and all of us are gathered in the nearby Fractaltribe kitchen, drinking beet juice to re-energize (I love beets with a Dwight-Shrute-esque over-enthusiasm, btw). So, our friend Dan walks in the room with an incredibly intricate shirt from a separate trip he made to South America, and tells Kyle he felt it was meant for him, perfectly matching his style and size. Dan then offered it as a gift - and this is where it gets especially, amazingly spooky:

Kyle decides on the spot to try on the new shirt, which was pretty much made for him. To complete the look, I decide to reach over and pull his new Labradorite out on top, which before was inside his shirt. As it comes into view, Dan stops talking in mid-sentence and just stares in disbelief. Initially struggling to get the words out, this is what he said: "OH MY GOD BROTHER!! HOLY SHIT! THAT'S MY FAVORITE LABRADORITE!! HOW ON EARTH DID YOU FIND IT?! HOW IS THIS FREAKIN POSSIBLE?!?"

Yeah. 0_0

Everyone in the room stops cold in their tracks. Beet juice stops flowin' and we all go quiet, as if knowing that the Universe itself is in the room staring us down with silent knowing, whispering "Don't ever forget me, bitches." Because, you know, the Universe can be sassy sometimes.

Kyle hands the labradorite back to Dan after thousands of miles between them, and the cycle is complete. 8 hours after I asked about it, Kyle found the owner. Or Dan found him. Or everything was found to begin with, and never really lost. (I'm going with this last one.)

So, after residing in that Holy Moment for what seemed like an eternity, we all just start laughing like crazy, high-fiving and hugging everyone. Because heck, when you stare the Oversoul in the eyes, and it looks back at you and laughs like Santa Claus, what else can you do? Meer weergeven

My flame's blue kyanite wire wrap pendant, created by my friend Forrest, aka Healing Vortex Crystal Wraps. He has a very elegant, yet sturdy style that I especially dig. Feel free to scope is work! The brilliant blue color is due to trace amounts of titanium and iron in the oxidized aluminum silicate matrix.
