PLEASE SHARE WITH ALL SEATTLE-AREA MUSICIANS!!

Hello, so if you’ve gotten this email, it’s because you are a local Seattle musician (or someone in that industry) that we respect. We, as in Ayron Jones and the Way. Not sure if any of you follow our posts at all, but recently we’ve begun using (hashtag) seattlemovement as a hashtag with a lot of our posts. (Sorry, we can't use the hashtag symbol in... the post, or Facebook formatting flips out and then we can't post the entire message)

What does this mean? Well, in the past few years, musicians like Macklemore, Allen Stone, Fleet Foxes, Head and the Heart and countless others have really put Seattle back on the map, on a national level, which is truly commendable. The great thing for us is that has put a lot of eyes on Seattle. So for all of us bands that are coming up behind them, we all have an opportunity to help carry the torch. AJATW is doing pretty good right now and there are many, many artists locally starting to break nationally, regionally and locally. To us, that is a Seattle movement.

Why should you care about that hashtag? We want to share it and spread the hell out of that hashtag and spread the hell out of your band. Our vision is for that hashtag to blow up if every band locally is using it after nearly every post. We all support each other. We become a family. Our fans find out about your band, and vice versa with hundreds of bands in the city. That hashtag isn’t well known as an AJATW thing. You won’t look like a copy cat or anything for using it. If people start seeing that hashtag daily, they’re going to start wondering what it means and investigate on it.

What do you have to do? That’s easy. Just put (hashtag) seattlemovement after your Twitter posts. And what about the idea of making shirts, stickers, etc. with that hashtag? We’re thinking we’ll simply print shirts that say (hashtag) seattlemovement at the top and (hashtag) ayronjonesandtheway at the bottom. Your band can put (hashtag) seattlemovement and whatever else you want. Whatever design, style, wording, etc. It’s your band. We all just share the hashtag.

We’re not looking to trademark the term, start a website or make money off of it. That would make it too difficult, controversial, and more headaches than it’s worth. We’re just looking to build community and help build each band up together. Figure it would be a good place to communicate together, discover new bands together, etc.

So what do you think? You in? Obviously, we don’t have the email address to every band/musician in Seattle, so please share this with every musician you know.

Respectfully,
Ayron Jones and the Way
