Oh that burns 🔥! Using Blood Flow Restriction with a functional movement exercise. @athletixrehab
One of the most important areas of attention during ACL reconstruction rehab is quadriceps strength and endurance.

We are using the @smarttoolsusa blood flow restriction cuffs to increase the intensity of these retro sled walks. Using blood flow restriction training allows us to increase the intensity of this exercise using a low resistance. Low resistance is advantageous for many post-op patients secondary to pain or general weakness, as well as protecting the healing tissues by limiting the external load required to stress the muscles.

Disclaimer: this was the end of a long and grueling rehab session for our guy so form was starting to suffer. Remember to keep your chest up and get that full knee extension!

Are you or someone you know rehabbing their ACL reconstruction? Tag them below!
