I can't find hey guys. we're doing a Facebook live, so don't say dirty unless it begins with F. Good Yeah. Come on in come on. Did you pick up the whole set? I want everybody to see this crazy set that I'm working on the Christian do a spin and just hit those cameras as well. How's this camera work everybody. Oh, I like it 360 nice look at you. Thank you. Alright. let me see if I can take over there. We go there you go. Hey Christian. let him let him take a look at you. you're around. Alright now. how do I flip there? We go hi gang. Hello. Hello. Hello. That was pretty cool. wasn't it so I am yeah Nice to see the set. Thank you. I'm glad you gotta kick out of that so gang I am in DC today I was I was on Chris Cuomo show last night, and because of all that. On relative to impeachment, I am doing my program from here and and consequently I get this awesome. I know to be reversed. give me a break but look come on how cool is that all the bells and whistles look at that. Yeah. I mean from my perspective, it looks like this, you can see the prompter. It takes a lot to run. A lot to run a a set like this normally as you know it is me you know in a black box in Philly, which I like I I like I I like the solitude of being solo in that studio but this is neat. This is kinda cool and and the show really look cool. Okay. Not only will the show look cool, but there's a lot going on. I I'm eager to chat with an. Actually, I'll I'll let me start let me start in reverse. Of course, I'm gonna cover all the political news of the day. Of course, I'm gonna cover impeachment and so forth, but frankly, one of the guests I'm excited about all my guest. but one of the guest. I'm really excited about today is Zoey Tur Zoey Tur, who is like the dean of Southern California helicopter pilots. It is Zoey Tur, then Bob Turner, who picked up. OJ Simpson in the White Ford Bronco, and with you know like 80 million people watching I don't know what the number was. I may have just pulled that out of my ass, but with a lot of people watching was able to follow OJ and the whole world was watching that was Zoey's work who better to talk to about the Kobe Bryant tragedy. Then you know the best known helicopter pilot in Cali. she was my guest on radio earlier this week and she was tremendous and I just saw. In advance of a documentary film about Zoey, Zoey and her then spouse that's called Worley Bird. It just debuted at Sundance and I hope it gets a wide release because it's awesome. so Zoey Tur is here. I'm going to talk about impeachment. I wanna offer some thoughts right at the outset of the program. I am of the opinion that the President was always working with a net because of this witness issue and the way I'm going to express it in an opening commentary is to say something like as a trial lawyer. Know that no amount of of documentary evidence witness reports other items produced discovery can take the place of what it's like when I meet a witness because I may have, I may have a case. I don't know how strong a case or how weak a case I have until I can look in their eyes. Judge body language Listen to word choice and intonation. And that's why yes the. I you know, I think Lamar Alexander summed it up, essentially saying he did something wrong but not something for which I'm I'm prepared to impeach him. I think the President was always working with a net so long as the American people didn't get to look at Bolton and Mulvaney. So I'm going to express that in a commentary of the opening of the program and then welcome Senator Ben Carden to talk about the latest with regard to impeachment. The state of the Union is Tuesday night. I mean Holy crap Super Bowl Sunday Monday, Iowa. Tuesday State of the Union the following week we've got the New Hampshire Primary Mary Kate Carey is a speech writer was a speech writer now teaches at UVA but was a speechwriter for Bush 40 - one. I wanna talk about the state of the Union. We always set a low bar for Trump for his speeches to the joint sessions of Congress. You know thinking he's gonna screw it up and and go off script. He doesn't. He knows the environment that he's in, but here's something I wanna float Two section three that's what lays out the state of the Union language and it, it says it says this he shall from time to time give to the Congress information of the state of the Union and recommend to their consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient. He may on extraordinary occasions, convene both houses or either of them and in the case of disagreement between them with respect to the time of adjournment, he may adjourn them. Two such time as he thinks proper, he shall receive ambassadors etcetera etcetera etcetera. Here's my point. he doesn't need to give the state of the Union on Tuesday night. You know that thing is written about just just as clearly as you know Hamilton in Federalist 60 - five, it's subject to interpretation. So if the President I don't think he'll do this. I think he's given McConnell his word that will be there. But if the President said, I'm not coming to deliver the state of Until after this impeachment stuff is behind me, he could do that he could do that. Remember going back in time. American presidents didn't deliver state of the Union in person they delivered it in in writing, Okay a lot of developments in the last 20 - 440 - eight hours relative to Iowa 2020 and the Bloomberg campaign in particular Kevin Shaky, who is Mike Bloombergs campaign manager, will be here perfect Others are going back shit. The DNC just changed the rules for debates where no longer are you required to show that you've got broad-based donor support and so it looks like Mike Bloomberg Post is going to be able to participate. I think it's February. I shouldn't say maybe it's February 19, but the prospect of Bloomberg now getting on the debate stage is real and and Not only have Mike Bloombergs campaign manager to talk about what this means to the Bloomberg campaign at a point where they are ascendant, but I also have Tom Stier Stier, who is not happy that the rules have been changed in a way that will accommodate Bloomberg. here's my spin on this. I'm not so sure it's in the best interest of Mike Bloomberg in other words, think think think about this the party line and I think this is what I get from. Kevin Cheeky is they're related. You know they're standing in the polls is is is rising blah blah blah. they're looking forward to being on the debate stage. I'm not. Sure about that, I'm the guy who has been saying that if you gave my Bloomberg the opportunity to enter a time machine go back in time and announces candidacy sooner than he did that he wouldn't take that deal. He doesn't wanna be at least up until now he didn't wanna be on that stage. You don't wanna be one of 20 candidates are or 10 candidates he wanted to wait until the moment was right is the moment right for him to get in when now, it will be down to just three or four others. I don't know so that's. Lineup Senator Ben Carden, Mary Kate Carey on the State of the Union, Kevin Shaky, the Bloomberg campaign manager Tom Stier self evident you know who Tom Steyer is and Zoey Tur with a unique perspective of the the Kobe Bryant tragedy. that's it. You want one more look at the studio. so let me just give you my perspective. Here's what I'm looking at. As I'm doing the show today, let me see if I can zoom in. I don't know if I can, I can't zoom in okay. So there's my prompter right you can see. I'm in my. I'm Michael Smerconish in Washington. Let me explain. I think the next line is let me explain what happened. and then this is what I'm seeing. Pretty cool right. Oh, yeah, I could get used to this. Here's my perch. There's my notes. That's what it looks like where I am. Wicked cool, Says Philip Ben Wah, Pergo Sharma, Veronica Martell and just see. Here's the camera view. Jamal Looking forward to Zoey's segment Hey Jamal Reach out for me we never did do that. that thing with you that I wanted to step up from that La closet. Yeah. Dave. you're right. You are right. Alright gang. I've gotta get to work hope you'll be watching. Here we go hello. so I think it's a really good. I think it's a really good program and I'm really looking forward to sort of the breath of it. I better get to work. Thank you for being here.
