Me and my boyfriend are visiting Boston for a few days to have a small getaway and explore a new city. We were looking for a good steak and quality seafood, so we decided to eat and Smith and Wollensk...y. I don’t even know where to begin. This restaurant is not only beautiful and elegant when you walk in, but the staff were welcoming and very kind. Our waitress tonight was Grace and I must say she was amazing. When asking recommendations from her, she was very knowledgeable on the menu and suggested some great things me and my boyfriend absolutely enjoyed. Her service to us was unbelievable and she was so kind. The food we ordered was out of this world. I truly don’t think I’ve had a steak or seafood this good in my life. Next time we visit Boston, we will most definitely be returning. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice night out with amazing service and elegant atmosphere. If you love a good steak, cocktails, wine, and seafood this is a must visit when in town. See More

My fiance and I ate there on Friday evening. No line; no wait which was nice. Burrata was excellent. I enjoyed the house filet Oscar style without the Hollandaise sauce. It was very good. The carrot s...ide was delicious. I highly recommend it especially on a Friday for a date night. Our waitress was excellent. See More

I am bummed to be writing this review because Smith & Wollensky has been a main stay/go to for us. We love the food, love the bartenders. We celebrate my birthday here every year. Tonight, we got a gr...oup of friends together to watch the Patriots, have great food and just enjoy an atmosphere that is relaxing. We were told last call was happening at 10:30 pm, 3rd quarter of the game. In our opinion, that is just bad business. Upon speaking to the manager, he mentioned that they do not "want a late crowd" and "we are not a sports bar." They even mentioned what a concession they had made to put on sound for the game (we never asked for that). Thank you for clarifying and we will definitely not be back. See More

We were told about the steak rubbed with coffee and cocoa, our friends said it was the best they ever had. Well they were understating it because it was fantastic. Service was incredible and the barte...nder named Aaron was very knowledgeable and cordial. I could eat there everyday. Keep up the awesome service and food, I'll tell everyone I know. Thank you See More

I'd never been here before, and I could be in charge of your PR I haven't stopped talking about my Gorgonzola Filet and incredible service my husband & I had on Saturday night. We sat at the... bar outside, and were pleasantly surprised that the entire menu is available there. Next date night in the city, we'll be returning! :) See More

I'll start by saying I've been there multiple times and have had a good experience. I don't know what happened yesterday. A large group of us went for lunch. There were 15 of us, but we had a reservat...ion. The service was ok. All of our waters were refilled timely, but no one asked me if I wanted my iced tea refilled. That was annoying. The food in my case was mediocre. I don't typically eat a lot of meat ( I know it's a steakhouse) so I ordered the Caesar salad with jumbo shrimp. The salad did not look like a salad from a high end restaurant. The romaine lettuce itself was fine. However, the dressing was super light - I could barely taste it. The croutons were very plain, and there were a lot of them. I will say the shrimp were good. All 2 of them. For $22 I expected a better salad. Most of my coworkers ordered the burgers or steak sandwiches and thought those were fine. I would have given more stars if we ended at that, but the grossest thing was when another co-worker who also had a salad, found a bug in her food. A BUG. unacceptable at any restaurant, but even more so at a place like Smith & Wollensky. See More

Great Filet Mignon, Rib Eye Capparcio, loved the atmosphere, and attentive staff. Wine menu has an excellent selection of domestic and international wines.

Good cocktails, nice appetizers, barely passable steak. More fat than meat. Probably won’t return.

Spent some time at the outside patio bar with Nelson, by far the best bartender of many we encountered yesterday! Great location on the water, friendly service, and ice cold drinks. (And he knew to sh...ake the cider can without me having to ask) Weren't able to stay long enough for food, but we'll definitely be back!! See More

Why do I always come back here? Sebastian and crew take care of us at the bar. In the dining room, too - service is prompt and professional. They handle my food allergies well - and it's always servic...e with a gracious smile. We could choose any high-end steakhouse in the city, we come back here because they truly care about the quality of our experience. See More

Huge Update: the reason I dropped this to a 2... Although they tried to make things right, they had invited us in and when we were seated, they completely forgot we were their guests that evening. It... was very disappointing, and I had to ask for the manager myself... They looked at me and and asked, "who are you?" In a condescending manner... Then the manager did come. After about two minutes he had an ohhhh yeah moment. Made me feel pathetic. It's not like I can't afford your restaurant. You invited us back for your restaurants terrible service and food on Valentine's day.

Yeah, most of the following is elaborated. I wouldn't go back here if you paid me so many better, and more affordable places. Just went to one in beacon hill. 112$... Best steak I ever had. Two apps, two entrees, two desserts, 5 divide between the two of us... The atmosphere was perfect.

As a foodie, and someone who loves experiencing restaurants in Boston (and around the country)... My significant other and I returned for part two of our Smith & Wollensky experience. I must say, it did not disappoint. Our server Evan was one of the finest (polite, courteous, pleasant, experienced, knowledgable, and fun) of the waitstaff I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. We went for a second round with our steak options. First, I must mention, the appetizers did not disappoint. Soup du jour, Mushroom w/ truffle... and the Wollensky Salad. To follow, she had the Black Angus Filet Mignon, and I settled on the 14oz NY Strip. Delicious! One of the finest steaks I've ever had. (Better than a famous Steak House in NYC midtown!) And the dessert (7 layer cake) was hilariously delicious as well... huge piece, and fantastic flavor. All washed down with a lovely cabernet. All in all, the environment, our neighboring table celebrating their anniversary, our waitstaff, and the management being very personable and friendly... this is definitely a place I'll return to.. and recommend to others. Highly, highly recommend! Thank you S&W!

Honestly, they forgot we were coming that day and I felt like an ass reminding them

Last night I had a wonderful One Year Anniversary dinner!! It was sooo nice to have the same waiter I had when I celebrated my 25 birthday last September (we laughed when we get married we have to inv...ite him) ! We also were sooo grateful to have received an Anniversary Card signed by all the staff on shift! Thank you Smith & Wollensky Boston for your excellent service.

P.s. The filet mignon and lobster was perfect

My wife and I went for our 30th Engagement Anniversary. The waitress was exceptional! I had let them know on OpenTable about the occasion when I set up the reservation and they had unexpected moments a card and champagne on the table for the occasion when we arrived. Spectacular!! Meal was fantastic and the night was ended with a even bigger surprise if a serious slice of chocolate cake to go- again as a surprise for our anniversary. They all went above and beyond and have earned a repeat customer and promoter of this great establishment! See More

Passing by and felt oh this looks a like a nice spot to enjoy a beverage, the service was ok , the cost of a glass of rose was rediculous 15 dollars for a glass of house rose made me feel disappointed

If I were to go back I would have to return later in the evening when the kitchen is hopping. We sat at 5 pm when the dinner had just started and seemed all were still waking up.

Our meal came out ...lukewarm and we were never visited by management to discuss, but were given an "on the house dessert" at the end of the meal.

By the end of our meal (7 pm ish) we smelled the kitchen in full gear searing up filets left and right ... perhaps our meals were the pre-prepared ones for the "just in case 5 o'clock rush?"

When you go to a high priced Boston restaurant paying top dollar you expect TOP NOTCH ......

Went last night for a post birthday date night with my husband. The food was EXCELLENT! Our server Jason was awesome! The chefs that cooked our food were on point. This is our new date night spot!... Beef bacon (who knew?) was delicious! Lamb chops, ribeye, truffled Mac & cheese, creamed spinach, roasted bone marrow and the richest piece of chocolate cake I've ever had will definitely bring us back. And if you love martinis try the dirty Bombay Sapphire martini with the olives stuffed with smoked Marcona almonds. Ok, that's enough for now. We're about to heat up the leftovers. 😋 See More
