On Wednesday, March 14th, sociologist Dr. Lisa Wade (Occidental College) will be coming to campus for a conversation about her new book, American Hookup: The New Culture of Sex on Campus. This book, based on Dr. Wade’s extensive interviews with college students across the country, examines the changing mores around sex, emotional health, consent and other issues confronting young people trying to navigate the contemporary landscape of sex and dating. It is a timely project, especially in an era of heightened awareness around issues of sexual harassment, assault and consent.
Dr. Wade will be in conversation with Dr. Oliver Wang of the Sociology Department at CSULB.
This public event will be held in LA-2, Room 120 at 5pm and is sponsored by the Sociology Honors Program, Sociology Student Association and AKD.
