Sorry, we've been a little quiet over here lately! The last few weeks have been all about babies: (1) a record baby that's taking shape as we go through the mastering process with the incredible folks over at Masterdisk and (2) an actual baby that G and her partner just had last week.
So yeah, we've had our hands full and our sleep interrupted, but don't worry! Things are still moving along with the record. Stay tuned for some long overdue Kickstarter gratitude, more collab spotlights and other sneak peeks, coming at you shortly.
Today, Sean and I wrote some Kickstarter Plea haikus.

*if we doooo, Sean will share a special rendition of a song from the Mega Man 2 OST
You know where to go:
hello! sean here... i'd like to play a little song for you, but first i have a few people i'd like to thank.
first off, a huge thanks to everyone who has supported our kickstarter both early and in the past few days. we are currently 68% of the way towards making our goal with 5 days left and we couldn't have done this without you. don't forget, if we hit 75% by 11:59 pm this evening, i promised you a juicy little mega man 2 video....
let's keep it going - have we mentioned t...hat this is all or nothing, so that if we don't hit 100% by wednesday then nothing happens??? please visit www.softcenter.band for more if you haven't, or consider sharing with a friend who you think would appreciate this.
secondly, gina and i have so many people to thank for helping us in so many ways, but today we'd like to thank the truly one of a kind, Brad Allen Williams. brad's depth and breadth of musical and technical knowledge is astounding and only eclipsed by his generosity and his love helping people make great music and great records. i'm preaching to the choir, but if you don't already use him for your needs when you want a guitarist, engineer, producer, or songwriter, you probably should.
and thirdly, this song below is a little tribute to brad. he showed me who Lonnie Mack was and i thought "Memphis" was a fitting song here, since the memphis in brad runs deep. i had been listening to this album for the past couple of days and i happened to wake up early today so i decided to learn it on a whim. it wasn't easy, but it was fun. as the story goes, they had 10 minutes of recording time to do two takes of this, so i gave myself only two takes, too. that wasn't enough for me to truuuly nail it, because i'm not lonnie mack, but brad's not really all about perfection for the sake of perfection anyway.
thank you! you have helped our Kickstarter cross the 60% mark with your generous support and we have 6 days left to reach our goal. (ALL OR NOTHING!)
here's a little video of sean working out some pedal steel parts for Shane-Michael Vidaurri's upcoming record. check out the awesome illustration he did for our stickers available which you can get along with your pre-order of the record! just head on over to www.softcenter.band for more info...
We've gotten to work with so many rad people in the making of this album that we wanted to make sure you get to know them too. First up, Emily Bate, who wrote and performed all the background vocals and harmonies on the album.
Emily's been a collaborator of ours for a long while and we're super excited that she was around to join us in the studio. But that's really not the half of it. Emily's a super busy lady with a million killer projects, including many ...bands and a regular role as Erin Markey's right hand musical pal. You can learn all about Emily, listen to her stuff and learn when she might be coming your way at her site: https://ebatester.wordpress.com/
And just for good measure, here's stupid picture of Emily goofing off at Tiny Telephone Oakland between takes.
