👊🏾 Today, we are honoring Professor Haunani Kay Trask. She's a poet, author, and tireless activist for her Native Hawaiian culture and aina (land).

Did you know that the monarchy of the Kingdom of Hawai'i was illegally overthrown by 13 white men in 1893? Hawai'i was later annexed as a US territory and eventually declared a US state. In 1993, President Bill Clinton signed US Public Law 103-150, known as the Apology Resolution. which acknowledged that Hawaiians have never relinquished the rights to their land. 🌈 #AAPIHeritageMonth

🎂 Happy 69th birthday to musical genius and accessibility activist, Stevie Wonder! He has consistently used his platform to raise awareness about disability issues and to demand accessibility. Did you know: his blindness was caused by a combination of him being born premature and a medical error where he received too much oxygen.
