"So Very Hard To Go" - Lenny Williams / Tower of Power (1973)

Here is the story of one of music’s unknown talents. You will not hear her name at the Grammys, but she is well known in key industry circles. Suzanne Ciani pioneered some of sound design’s most innovative frontiers. This new Doc, A Life in Waves, follows her career.

Avett Brothers sing Clay Pigeons, a song by Blaze Foley. The song is from the movie just released, Blaze, about the outlaw country movement of the '70s and '80s that spawned many music legends Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings as well as many others. This one brings back lots of memories. Check for the movie. It has some great music.

Drummers might take a lesson from this guy. It’s not about being loud and overpowering. It’s about style, taste and finesse. It’s about being a true showman.

Never seen an amazing drummer like Gege' Di Giacomo ~watch what he does

Renato Carosone was invited to form a trio for a new club in Naples, the Shaker Club. T...he inauguration date was scheduled for October 28, 1949. At the beginning of September Renato hired the Dutch guitarist Peter Van Wood, who had introduced, for the first time in the history of music, the pedalboard to the guitar with its electronic effects. On the day of the debut he showed up at 4.30 pm at the Miramare hotel, where Carosone was trying with Peter Van Wood, the Neapolitan drummer Gegè Di Giacomo, nephew of the great poet Salvatore, who arrived without a drumkit, saying that he had left it with the chromer to clean and polish it. Carosone and Van Wood, displeased, began to doubt the validity of Gege, who sensed everything and to dispel any doubt he improvised a homemade drumkit: a wooden chair, a tray, three glasses of different sizes and shades, two pegs, a whistle. This was the first trial of the Trio Carosone

This is definitely worth a re-post. The Hammond organ made an indelible impact on the history of American Music. The unique sound of the instrument shaped several genres of music including Jazz, Blues, Rock, Pop as well as some Country. Several other cross genres were also affected. The Hammond organ is no doubt a true American treasure.
