We were alerted that someone had dumped 3 dogs on the street in Bucerias.

The woman living in front of where they just appeared one day asked for help saying they just showed up there one day, didn´t know where to go, sad and scared and just stuck around waiting for their family to come back and get them.

She gave them food but needed a place for them.

We went out there to get them but could only catch two of them, the female was scared and took off, but she came back the next day and we went back to get her too.

Rusty, the Terrier, Buddy the Lab mix and Mia the black Lab girl are now all safe and sound at the sanctuary.

Another facebook message asking us for help:

Pamela who only lived temporarily in Vallarta had just found a little poodle girl on the street and took her in, but she was leaving town already 3 days later and asked us to help and take care of her.

The poodle had a hernia on her tummy and the fur matted and full of knots and fleas.

We took Pink to Dr. Peña where she received a bath, shave and the next day an all-in-one-surgery: her hernia was fixed, she was spayed and since the vets were at it, she received a teeth cleaning too! Full service!

Pink is about 8 years old, a tiny dame of only 8.8 pounds.

Lucky Lucia has found a family!!

Another little pup that our vet Dr. Poli asked us to take.

Some bad people were going to drown the little dog, Dr. Poli rescued it and asked if we could find her a home!

A family asked us for help.
They had found a little dog on the street in very bad conditions.

The little guy was skinny and had a bad case of mange, his face and lower parts of his body were crusted over and scratched bloody.

...

The poor pup had swollen paws from the skin irritation and difficulty walking and peeing.

He also seemed to be blind in one eye.

We looked at the photo they sent us and knew we had to help asap.

We hurried to pick up little Keeper and bring him to the sanctuary.
Keeper was clearly happy to have a safe place and soft bed, but he is not well.
We started his treatment for mange and gave him something for the pain, but he really has a hard time walking, he is pretty exhausted and is mostly resting and lying on his soft blankets now. He is a tiny guy weighing not even 5 pounds.

Please send us good thoughts for this little guy to help make him better.

We also need your help to cover his medical expenses.

Venus was rescued by our Vet Ana.
She found her on the street, very skinny and weak and she could hardly walk.

The little girl was dehydrated, hungry and had a very low white blood cell count. She probably hadn´t eaten in days and now without rains in Puerto Vallarta, it is not even easy to find water anywhere for a street dog.

Ana brought her to the sanctuary, bathed her and gave her an IV and meds. Venus just crashed and wouldn´t get up for the first 5 days. She probably realized she was safe now and people were taking care of her, so she could rest to gain strengh again.

On Sunday suddenly she seemed to have recovered and got up and started to explore her surroundings, being curious and wanting to be loved and cuddled. Way to go little girl!!!
We will find you a nice family who loves you and will take care of you forever!

We received an email from Darwin asking for help for a dog:

"Hi, we have a gentle giant sreet dog who has followed me and my chihuahua on our walks twice a day. A neighor put him in his fence but he jumped it and now the gate is open. I overheard the neighbors say he has no owner. He has an injured rear leg, he likes all dogs and jumped back when a small dog snapped at him.
Can you help?"

Bart is now at the sanctuary, he is not that giant, but a big guy with 70 pounds. He is between 1 and 2 years old, has a big head with one floppy ear and one standing up and loves to get belly rubs and goof around.
