Coming to Ss. Peter and Paul this weekend! This concert was a big attraction last year, so you don't want to miss it this year!
While researching for this post, I learned that the first bishop of Detroit, Peter Paul LeFevere, purchased land at the corner of St. Antoine and East Jefferson... in 1843 from Antoine Beaubien whose ancestors had been granted the property about a century early by the French crown. Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church (1848) is actually the oldest church building in the city of Detroit. The architect was Francis Letourno, and it was built by Peter Kindenkins.
