Hooks was arrested on warrants for (1 count) 2nd Degree Murder, (2 counts) Attempted 2nd Degree Murder, (1 count) Illegal Use of Weapons or Dangerous Instrumentalities, and (1 count) Aggravated Criminal Damage to property.
These charges stem from the 2023 homicide of 20 year old, Tajdryn Forbes. Hooks was located and arrested as a fugitive in St Tammany Parish; he was transported to the Bogalusa City Jail where he was booked and then transported to the Washington Parish jail where he remains. Bond has not been set.
🚨Arrest Made in 2022 Homicide of Juvenile🚨
On December 12, 2024, Detectives with the Bogalusa Police Department arrested 17 year old, Langston Johnson, on warrants issued by the 22nd Judicial District Court.
This arrest is the result of a lengthy investigation into the 2022 homicide of a male juvenile, on the south side of Bogalusa. Detectives, with the assistance of the district attorney’s office, uncovered new evidence in the case which led to the issuance of a warrant for (1 count) of LRS 14:30-2nd Degree Murder.
Johnson was subsequently booked and transported to the parish jail where he remains on a $500,000 bond.
Chief James Smith stated, “The Bogalusa Police Department remains committed to the citizens of Bogalusa. We commend our officers and the work put in to bring these tragic cases to a conclusion. These cases highlight the collaborative effort and cooperation between our department and the district attorney’s office, and both our commitments in making Bogalusa a safer community.”
