Way to go, Lions, way to go! 👏👏
Congratulations to our JV basketball teams for a remarkable showing at this weekend's End of Season tournament in Giddings! The Boys claimed the championship, while the girls battled to take third place. It was a fun, long, day of spirited games and a wonderful way to cap off the season. We are especially grateful for Coach Gerren, Coach Cavage, and Coach Meadors for their time and leadership of these young Lions! 🦁❤🏀
Our blue-ribbon Lion readers went all out for their Texas Bluebonnet Award party! Each year, the Texas Library Association sponsors the Bluebonnet Award, to encourage independent reading for elementary students. These students read, then vote, for their favorite book from the master list. All of our Grade 3-4 students met the challenge requirements this year and earned a chance to cast a vote for their favorite book at a BLUEbonnet party, complete with all blue snacks! We look forward to seeing which of the books will be named this year's winner!
How are you? We are fine. This week, we wrote letters to family and friends who live in far away places. Today, we walked to the Post Office to learn about how they will get there. We mailed them, ourselves, and we cannot wait to see who writes back!

We've got spirit, yes, we do!
We've got spirit, thanks to you!
We've surpassed more than 200 followers to our new Facebook page! Thank you for taking time to like, share, and comment on some of our favorite kids and Christian educators. We may be biased, but we think we have the best fans, too!...
Keep liking, commenting, and sharing, as we continue to impact the world through strong, Christian leaders we call Lions.
We are thrilled to congratulate our competitors for a job very well done at Friday’s Spelling Bee! These students (and teachers and families) worked diligently to prepare to compete against other central Texas Lutheran schools – Cross, New Braunfels; Immanuel, Giddings; St. Paul, Serbin; Zion, Walburg; and Redeemer, Austin. When all was said and done, our own Lions claimed the overall championship for the third year in a row! Congratulations to ...our friends from Redeemer, Austin, on their second place finish.
Kudos to the following students for advancing to the final round and placing in the top three:
Grade 3: Grant (1st), Ethan S. (finals), Garrett (finals)
Grade 5: Bella (2nd)
Grade 6: Emily (2nd) and Madison (3rd)
Grade 7: Natalie (2nd) and Harrison (finals)
Grade 8: Emmerson (1st) and Chloe`(finals)
Today we welcomed our friend Mel Zoch for electricity demonstrations for Grades 1-8. Mr. Zoch spent more than 40 years as a Lutheran educator, and we always appreciate his visits.
Word is that he needed a good, cold day for the static electricity experiments. Looks like we arranged that perfectly.
P.S. Don't worry moms! We were outside (without coats) for just a few minutes for the solar powered items.
In the interest of safety, school is canceled for tomorrow. Basketball games vs. Immanuel, Giddings have also been canceled.
We will continue to monitor the weather for Wednesday morning. If a delay or closure is needed, we will make another announcement via FB, Praxi email, and KRXT 98.5 FM. Please stay safe and warm. Tomorrow will be a good day for reading!
We are keeping a close eye on the forecast for winter weather tomorrow. Check FB, Praxi email, or KRXT 98.5 FM for news regarding any school delay or closure. All Monday after school/evening activities will proceed as planned today, including boys basketball practice, PSIA practices, robotics, and the PTF meeting.
