The PPTSG is a not-for-profit organisation, comprising serving and former police officers, and emergency service workers. Its aim is to provide support to those who are suffering from PTSD, anxiety and depression, and to alleviate the isolation and stigma that is generally associated when diagnosed with these illnesses. The PPTSG is supported in its work by the NSWPF, health professionals and various counselling services. In addition to providing support to serving and former police officers, and emergency workers, PPTSG provides a family and spouse support function. Although the PPTSG is based in New South Wales, it receives calls for assistance nationally and internationally, partly due to one of its founding members, Esther McKay, who was a member of the New South Wales Police Force. Esther has become a well known author, nationally and internationally, through her book ‘Crime Scene’, which highlights the stressors and trauma associated with police work. Esther receives calls for support for stress related issues via her website which are passed on to the PPTSG. Report/video from Nine News Sydney/Nine Network.

Deniliquin LAC - NSW Police Force

The Commander of Deniliquin LAC – Superintendent Condon has authorised a memorial wall for deceased officers who were attached to the Deniliquin area at the tim...e of their passing.

Police have actively researched fallen members and where possible have taken the initiative to ensure that any grave sites are clean and tidy to honour those members. In this stead, local Police have attended to the grave site of former District Superintendent Grugeon who passed in 1911 because of a buggy accident.

It is envisaged that the memorial wall will be located at the front of the new Deniliquin Police Station, and opened at a ‘back to Deniliquin’ function in February 2018.

14 January 2001

"About 8.40am on 14 January 2001 police were attempting to stop a stolen vehicle during a high speed pursuit at Mittagong. Approval was given to place road spikes on the roadway and Senior Constable Affleck and other police did this near the Mark Evans Bridge Glen Alpine. When the offending vehicle reached the spikes the driver swerved from one side of the road to the other colliding with the Senior Constable who was killed instantly. The driver was later arrested and charged with murder.
The Senior Constable was born in 1957 and joined the New South Wales Police on 18 September 1978. At the time of his death he was attached to the Campbelltown Highway Patrol.'"

Big big thanks to the two professional, calm and friendly police officers that helped with an incident on Abernethy Rd near Kalamunda Rd lights tonight. As an e...x cop I was impressed with the way you handled the situation with patience, kindness and compassion. I didn't get your names or which station you were from so I do hope you see this post or are made aware of my thanks. You are both a credit to the job and to yourselves as well. Thank you. 💙

I can never understand how on earth someone who attacks a police officer, a person who puts their psychological and physical well-being on the line for all of us, can be granted bail?

There is no respect by the attacker or those who give just a mere slap on the wrist.

What happened to being held responsible for your actions? That actions have consequences?

Wishing the officers a swift and full recovery. We have your back.

THERE has been a furious backlash against a decision to grant bail to an alleged cop basher — who is reported to have kicked a young officer in the head.

Thank you to our police families and the sacrifices they make also. We appreciate you! 💙🙌
