الطبقة الحاكمة تراكم الثروات تراكم الضحايا
The ruling class accumulates wealth and accumulates victims

Statement: The Disorder of Things:

Comrades we have already experienced the end of the world.

Frederic Jameson’s famous quote in The Disorder of Things that “It has become easier to imagine the end of the world than the end of capitalism” rings true more than ever.

...

Lebanon, a microcosm of disaster and zombie capitalism, where regional authoritarianism and global financial capital intertwine, exemplifies the beginning of the end of both capitalism and the world.

The world ends as capitalism deteriorates. The world ends again as capitalism rises again from the disorder of things.

How many times have our worlds ended in the last decade? In the last year? In the last week?

Under the rubble, there are still those who are fighting for their lives in order to join us in a perpetual state between life and death.

In plain sight, there are still among us organizers and activists, friends and comrades, who are still kidnapped, killed, and left for dead in the wastelands of capitalism.

Under the airport, there are still ample possibilities for surpluses of incompetence and greed that might detonate at any moment. Detonate what has become for thousands of us the only escape route from this end of the world to another.

Still in front of the embassies remains hundreds of migrant workers pleading to be repatriated to their own end of the world. This one has been too much to bear for them. Every departure is a defeat, not a victory. A defeat of the absent labor unions that should have been by their side.

As our paychecks become worthless, capitalism returns to its original form of accumulation by dispossession, by displacing its crisis on our doorsteps, by reducing us to our labor power, by stripping us of our bargaining power.

As they aim to remove their subsidies from our daily needs, we can feel our bodies becoming brittle and weak. Tired from endlessly having to protest in order to acquire the most basic of demands.

But it is not the end.

Comrades, if we have already seen the end of the world, let us then organize to finally witness the end of capitalism.
