I just wanted to say thank you for being so kind to us the other day when I had stopped in for a very late lunch. My wife just delivered our second child and a ...friend of mine recommended The Tamale Place to me if I had a moment to duck out of the hospital and grab some real food. I am glad I did! I went around 2:00 o clock in the afternoon and picked up a combo that included a Pork Tamale in Green Sauce. It was amazing and the best tamale I've had outside of Texas... maybe also including Texas. The chips were great and the hot sauce is no joke... it was making my nose run and my eyes water! While I was sitting at the table eating a quick lunch, the cashier (my receipt says Regina) congratulated me on the birth of my kiddo. I never mentioned it to her but she noticed my hospital bracelet. I told her that was very kind to notice and she asked me if my wife liked pumpkin desserts. I said absolutely and she came back with a free delicious dessert tamale to take back with me to the hospital. How amazing is that? I took the tamale back with me to my wife and she was not only blown away by the kindness of the staff in the store but also but the flavor of the tamale. It was amazing. Thanks again for making my short trip in Greenwood all the more memorable. Please tell Regina that she made our day! عرض المزيد

This place is the worst place to work for. The new manager is so rude to the the other employees. She wanted my daughter to clean up someone's spit that was in ...the parking lot. My daughter worked there for a year and 4 months, and they fired her today cause DJ the manager said she didn't clean the bathrooms. And DJ wasn't even at work last night. I am a mexican from Texas. This place feeds my soul!! They know how to make some tamales!! I know what I am talking about!!

I eat here at least once a month....

I forgot my wallet today, and employee Melissa spotted me the cash. They have earned my business forever!

When I got home with my food, I was livid the clerk forgot to throw in my nachos. Once I started eating the fish tacos all was forgiven. The fish tacos and tamales are the bomb.

Love having vegan tamale options!! Ever since I saw The Tamale Place on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives a few years ago, I've always wanted to visit it. Now that my food choices have changed, I get to enjoy their deliciousness with even more enthusiasm and excitement.

Beyond great. The tacos are even great if they run out of tamales. They only make so many a day to keep them fresh. I've watched people be rude over not having a certain flavor. Suck it up. It's food.

My coworkers and I love to get lunch! Pork tacos are AMAZING! Elotes are my favorite! I take home cold tamales for my husband who loves the beef with red! Spicy Chipotle nachos are good- though I leave off the lettuce!

Every single time we walk into this place they are out of tamales. It doesn't matter the time of day. Food is always good when you can get it. Go to the west side. They always have food.

Well my husband couldnt stop raving about how amazing this place was so he took me to try it and I was just so sadly dissapointed, as was he. I ordered the stea...k nachos with everything on them, when I opened the box all you could see was lettuc. The box was just so full of lettuce its like they didnt want me to see everything it was missing. The only thing under the lettuce was black bean thats it. I was expecting the picture they have on the wall and got 2 handfulls of lettuce with black beans and a few pieces of steak. My husband got the pork taco and all of the cheese was melted and dried up into one solid piece and was so greasy and soggy he just tossed it aside and couldnt even eat it. It was a sad dissapointment to a place my husband knows can be fantastic. Not sure if it was the employees working that day or just the store itself has gone. عرض المزيد

I had promised my son tamales but none of my local groceries carried any. I was driving on my way home from Indy remembered the tamale place was on the way sort...a so decided to stop in get him something to go and me something for lunch. Well the staff was super helpful explaining everything and fun to chat with as well. The food was amazing and fresh. The hot sauce for they taco they offer is more of a medium in my taste but it was still super yummy and the tamale I had was hot and fresh and yummy.
Son was super excited for his and said he can't wait to try them for lunch. They were still hot after a forty minute drive which is awesome.
Not in Greenwood often but this will be a go to place for me when I am for sure عرض المزيد

Our chicken with green sauce tamali's and my husbands chilpolte chicken were so dry and not very warm,had to buy xtra sauce to be able to eat them...Our 1st. Vi...sit...We also purchased the apple and walnut and chocolate one.I must say the apple walnut was awesome.Husband liked the chocolate tamali.Looked nothing like the video ...Disappointed!!! عرض المزيد
